A collection of strangers, some human and others perhaps more or less, had through a twist of fate found their way to the Greens. It was a strange ragtag group of characters Isaac had become accustomed to strange beings in the Omniverse, but this truly was a melting pot. He watched from a distance as Christa stormed up to them and readied her pistol. It was the natural conclusion, it seemed, that she would find a threat in the gathering. Isaac moved slowly, the previous day’s excitement taking a toll on his aged body. Several others arrived as he sauntered up next to Christa and put his hand on her shoulder.
“Come, now we won’t find Omni like that...” he smiled at her and then turned his attention to the rest of the group. Despite the toll that aging had taken on his weathered face he was still able to form a warming heart-felt smile.
“Nice to meet you all, I’m Isaac and this here lovely lady is Christa. Nice to meet all of you.”
An ominous gust of wind whipped through the group and Isaac pulled his crimson cloak tight around his body. A chill crawled down Isaac’s spine and he shuddered in response. Around him the sounds of the forest formed a striking staccato, the call and echo of animals and insects created a truly profound experience. For as much as he loved the comforts of modern civilization, Isaac felt a certain undefinable yearning for a simple life in nature.
Isaac snapped to attention as the General took command of the situation. Her authority took him by surprise and his reaction was a relic of his long-gone past. A deep breath was had by the Bloodlance, glad that the situation was seemingly defused. He glanced at Christa and offered a weak smile before walking over to the general.
“So what brings a general to the front lines?” he quipped, hoping to lighten the situation.
