Rest and Recovery... and Running
#5
"Distract them? I can do that, I think," Triest said, having at this point figured out they were still in the middle of what remained of the structure. Oh how mad the owner was going to be. Triest slowly got up from his sitting position on the ground, steadying himself against the wall before engaging his cloak. He would have loved to sprint down the hallways without so much as a single care for the world, but now wasn't really a time to overextend himself.

He would slip past a few guards, making sure to avoid the dreaded ceramics which had doomed him last time. Finally making it to the large breach in the wall, he would carefully climb down before realizing something he hadn't thought of. How was he going to distract them? Sure he could just walk up to them, say hi, and then blast one, but that was bound to get him shot as well. Hm... wait he still had his buggy outside didn't he?

Several guards were waiting around at the entrance, on alert as they should be. They perked up when they heard the sound of a revving engine off into the distance. The sound came closer and closer before a blinding light jolted out from the darkness.

"Fuck!" one of them yelled, moments before impact.

Triest had bailed from his buggy before it made a spectacular crash into the main entrance, crushing a few stormtroopers in the process.

"Spread out! Look for the bastard!"

Triest fired his shotgun into the air before re-engaging his cloak and then making his way towards the buggy of all things. The engine was busted, but a the fuel line was still intact. Well, not after Triest cut it and started spraying it around liberally. Then he retrieved a blaster from the crushed guard, and shot at the engine.

The engine lit on fire, before consuming the entire car in an inferno of dancing flame.

"That should do it," Triest said to himself, "Hopefully we won't need an escape vehicle." Triest, perhaps, did not think that through all the way. Oh well.
