My role-playing etiquette
#11
Mickey Mouse Wrote:RPing someone else's character is one of the coolest things about this Omniverse. Really it's nothing to be nervous about because it moves the story along and makes it in general a more dynamic read.

That said, it's always good to do your research. If you're going to be writing someone else, always extensively look at their roster. As an extra measure, I always PM my post to the other party the first few times so they can tell me if I'm on the right track. I also feel free to ask questions, like, "Would your character do this?"

This. Nothing to be concerned about and mistakes do happen - people are usually pretty cool about it. I tend to avoid getting too in-depth with other people's characters unless I really know I have a good handle on them - in my fight w/ Caira and TBG, this is why I didn't try to frame much of the fight at all from their point of view. A little more dry/flat, sure, but at least I'm not butchering someone else's character that way.

I'm of the "post whenever you feel like it" etiquette as Omni is, so long as everyone's cool w/ it. Some things (like fights) need a more rigid post order (I guess) but other than that, I think it'd be more fun for most people involved to post at whatever pace they prefer.
