To be clear on this point, I don't remember the exact interaction because... well, it was this morning and it isn't even in the archive anymore so there's no way for me to check, but I'm pretty sure it never went beyond me being like "yo anyone want to marry Dany and be her king" and Enel being like "gods > kings" and me being like "you got an army."
At least for me, the intent (and, I firmly believe, the execution) looked only like casual, semi-in-character plotting. There's a difference between interaction which someone interprets as having sexual overtones and something that is literally describing vaguely sexual acts. Not saying I have an opinion on "huggles" and "snuggles" or whatever because lol, it's all over and the censorship is revoked so it doesn't even matter, but it's a hard comparison you're drawing there.
As for your opinion on the execution of the executive action, I think you're giving Greg less credit than he deserves. Firstly, Greg is a dynamite admin, having not only put all of his heart and soul into creating this entire site and everything on it but working tirelessly every day to constantly improve the system and make it better for us. In addition to that, he also works (thanklessly) to make the site a more comfortable environment for everyone involved, which he has made clear throughout this entire thread was the purpose of removing the words in the first place.
I think you're misinterpreting the situation. The censorship was executed through "trolling" as a means of lightheartedly trying to instill it, because gdi it's the word "huggles" there didn't need to be a whole argument about it. In fact, the entire time this thread has been going on, Greg has been trying his best to make it clear that he didn't want this blown out of proportion. It's not a serious disciplinary issue, it was an honest attempt to make people feel more comfortable on the site, and so he executed it in a funny, joking manner meant to gently remind people that some people don't like baby talk in the chatbox. It isn't like he penalty box'd everyone who tried to say "huggle" and banned them from chat, then posting an obnoxious message in here that read something along the lines of "NOBODY CAN HUG PEOPLE ANYMORE."
It was never supposed to be "serious." It's an attempt to make this whole site a better experience for everyone. Obviously it didn't go as he hoped. But there's no need to attack him for trying to implement it in a friendly, non-aggressive manner. In fact, we should probably be lauding him for that, because he could have chosen to be a lot ruder.
EDIT: And with that point in mind, I'm absolutely done talking about this because the fact that this blew up into such a big deal instead of being calmly discussed (which some people did, thankfully) has gotten on my nerves all day and I refuse to add myself to this heated debate any further. I wanted to step in and try to get people to stop harassing Greg and that's all I'm here for, and now I'm through with it. Good night.
