He passed through some sort of gate uneventfully, aside from a sharp spike of disorientation that nearly send him tumbling off his makeshift vehicle, but he managed to stay upright and bring it to a stop to regain his senses.
He took a long look around his surroundings, marveling at the stark contrast to the strange white void of the place he'd just been. The heat of the area reached him mere moments later, and he found it distinctly uncomfortable. He pondered for a moment on returning and seeking out another locale after all, seeing perhaps what lay beyond each of the apparent gates...but changed his mind almost as quickly as the thought occurred to him.
Searching the area for some kind of path or trail that might exist, he pushed his hover-platform forward and went off to see if he could come across anything that might hint at this place being more than an expanse of ash and heat.
It was several hours of aimless wandering, filled with much observation of the area and very little finding anything out, aside from the general amount of lava present in the area and the inherent danger of exploring too carelessly, before he came across something out of the ordinary.
The faint sound of...music?
It was enough of a curiosity that the soldier navi directed his travel path to take him toward its source, and in a matter of minutes he arrived to see some kind of....bizarre stand-off. That was the only way he could think of it. And he had come just in time to see a man of well above average height making both a threat as well as asking about a...a dragon?
It took Colonel a long moment to debate whether the man might have been crazy, during which he realized several things, the least of which being that the music was gone. The crushed remnants of a car, the fact that the man in the suit, one who was outnumbered, seemed to be the aggressor in the situation....and the fact that he had no idea which side might have been in the right.
With that in mind, he couldn't rightly interfere. He simply dismounted his vehicle, leaving it where it sat, and approached closer, on an elevated ridge off to the side of the path where he was afforded a clear view of the situation -- or at least as clear as the haze of heat and ash in the air provided.
All he could do now was watch and wait for a proper cue to intervene in some fashion.
