Without hesitation or worry for what might happen if it didn't work as intended, Colon stepped up onto the platform of the contraption he had created. It was a simple affair, five feet square with powerful thruster and stabilizer systems on the bottom, giving it the look of a levitating platform more than anything. A singular pillar, rising up at the "front" edge of the platform, bore a depression in the approximate shape of a human hand, which Colonel shortly placed his left hand against.
Without the wireless transmission abilities of a Mr. Prog, he had needed to find some other way to interface with the craft. And in mere seconds he was rewarded with success, a shallow border, barely a foot high, rising about the edges of the platform, and the entire affair giving off a faint vibration and hum of ignition as it lifted off the ground, resting comfortably a handful of inches in the air. Colonel gave only the faintest nod of approval, glad the design was functional, before he bent his mind to the controls, and the craft slowly inched forward.
It took a moment to gain his bearings on the controls, but soon enough he was moving along at a respectable rate of speed. It wasn't comparable to the speed of the cyber-trains on the Net, but it was much faster than Colonel could ever hope to go on foot.
And in short order, after the passage of several long and silent minutes, he had left the strange fountain behind, and was nearing the distant structures he had seen on the horizon. And as he drew nearer, he came to the realization that the one he was headed toward seemed to be constantly emitting a thick cloud of smoke. That was a minor worry, but there was every chance it would be a concern he could cope with, and so his course did not stray.
Several further silent minutes brought him ever closer to the structure, which he soon identified as indeed being an archway of some sort. And within a further handful of minutes, he reached it and drew to a halt before it.
He surveyed it briefly, his expression never changing, before he directed his gaze to look through it. For only a handful of seconds did his gaze remain fixed upon it before he directed his makeshift vehicle to proceed through it.

"Hold on a second, I have a call..."
