The trooper made some comment about not knowing of his homeland and Shū seemed hesitant to believe it. He had been lied to so many times that it was difficult to accept even the simplest of statements. Yet willing to hand out trust was just a simple matter of who he was. He gave it freely and only questioned it when that trust was broken. The shaman had come across so many fantastical things in his life, what was so hard to believe? Was it that difficult to understand he wasn’t where he thought he was? Looking from the outside in, he was obviously the hostile element. The unruly one.

The madman.

However, this did not force him to be at ease. His grip was still tight and his finger was unknowingly close to the trigger, completely oblivious to how much harm the weapon could really cause. The silhouette of the smiling man popped into his mind again and it was incredibly jarring. Sweat beaded across his skin as a stillness took to the air.

It did not escape him that the soldier put away his weapon. A misunderstanding? Shū contemplated the words of this man, this Captain Alexander. The troopers seemed reluctant but one by one they lowered the weapon, a silent acknowledge of the soldier’s request. That left Shū as the only one still holding the weapon to his captive’s head. It wasn’t difficult to admit that he had the same questions as well, difficult to admit that perhaps these weren’t the creatures that burned his entire world to the ground.

Green eyes locked onto the captain, trying to measure him and weigh his words. Steadying his breath, his glare eased as he hoisted the stormtrooper to his feet. Shū pushed his captive forward and tossed the weapon to one of the ivory-clad soldiers. As his once prisoner stumbled and whirled around, the shaman stuck out his chest and clenched his fists at his side as if daring one of them to retaliate.

There was a long silence, others in the background starting to lose interest and go about their business till there remained the metal soldiers and the three strangers.

“A deal is a deal. What do you want to know?” The stormtrooper Shū had been holding hostage asked, raising his hand for the others to remain silent as it was clear a couple had protests.

Answers was what they had to offer but as the adrenaline in his system died down, Shū fell to one knee and threw up a great deal of the blue ichor he had been force fed for who knows how long. His body was racked with pain but he refused to fall as he looked up at the stormtrooper with bloodshot eyes. Despite the azure liquid dripping from his chin, Shū’s presence still exuded danger.

“Where…are we? What…is a Prime?”
