Hyphen Wrote:Soulfire Aura – 300 OM (Debuff, Area Prof)As weak as it is, the fact that it lasts an hour seems like it would take more energy than "a strong punch". I can imagine the biggest annoyance of this move is that it would be very… Well, annoying and distracting to have bright, illusory flame on your body for an entire hour.
The user turns on an Aura (AOE centered on herself, a 30m radius circle) that can be sustained for up to an hour. Characters that are within the aura that have equal or less DEF than her TECH will be covered in illusion-flames that hiss loudly, that cause very minor discomfort. These flames are blue and transparent, and look like if the victim was on fire. The user isn't required to concentrate to sustain this effect, and casts it via a swift mystical gesture. The user is exhausted as if she had perfomed a strong punch upon using this move.
Quote:Traumatophobia - 300 OM (Debuff Prof)Way too strong for the proposed downside.
"...It is an intense and irrational fear of being hurt."
- With a mystical hand gesture, the user summons a 1m diameter area up to 10m away from herself, which causes a curse.
- The user is fatigued at cast as if she had performed a strong punch.
- The curse lasts for 24 hours or until the victim meditates for several minutes or otherwise somehow recover mental stability.
- Victims with as much TECH or more than the caster of this move can feel and are aware of the curse's effects, but it doesn't cause a hinderance to them.
- When someone with ATK greater than half the victim's TECH comes within 100m of the victim, the victim will start getting hallucinations of that someone from the direction that someone is at - or somewhere appropriate in their field of vision (for example, as a creeping shade behind them lurking over their shoulders in the corner of their sight). The hallucination will be attacking them in melee ways, such as punches, kicks etc - never causing actual damage, but being quite a distracting and intimidating nuisance.
- At max range, the hallucination is barely noticeable. At point blank, the hallucination very noticeable.
Quote:Thundershackle Area – 300 OM, Ranged Prof, Ranged Mat Prof, Area Prof, Debuff ProfThis is still way too strong for the proposed downside.
[float=left][/float]Cast: Instant
Range: 5m radius target area, remains for a minute.
Fatigue: Equivalent to a short sprint. Expended at cast.
Effect: Applies "Thundershackle" effect to characters within, severity depends on Hyphen's TECH vs Victim's ATK.
The Thundershackle area is very obvious as it's overall tinted with a (purely cosmetic) blue and electric texture, full of spiritual chains made of lightning. This spell can only be used once per round. Exiting (such as walking out of) the area removes the Thundershackle area's effect (reapplied upon reentry). The victim's general aptitudes are reduced according to the severity of the sympthoms. Other situations will be guessed out from these maximum and minimum reference points
- Minimum Effect: Hyphen's TECH is equal to the Victim's ATK: No effect, the character can wade through the thundershackles with ease, tearing through them, not allowing them to grasp on and perform their effect.
- Maximum Effect: Hyphen's TECH is double or more than the victim's ATK: The character is reduced to a convulsing, pathetic wreck only capable of moaning and suffering in mindbreaking electric torture, as they can't remove their own thundershackles.
As another general thing:
"As a general rule, moves with an either/or effect based on stats are discouraged. See the description for telepathy or suppression for examples of what I mean. Having a move either work completely or not at all based on having a higher or lower stat is very "gamey". That, generally, is something we dislike."
I'll get to the rest when I have time but they probably need reworking too.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
