Ain't Cutting no Ice [Gin/Alain/Mami/Jack Mitchell]
#10
Urist and his remaining dwarven brethren ran through the snow as fast as their small legs could carry them. The deep snow impeded their efforts, if they did not find shelter soon they would meet their death from either the trolls, the dragon, or the cold itself. Urist turned his head and spotted a light coming from a nearby mountain, it cut through the storm as if it was showing him the way to safety. He rallied his men, leading them to the mountain. Urist debated to himself of what the source of the light could be. It could be trolls, or perhaps a dragon's den. The possibility of adventurers crossed his mind, but he quickly shrugged off the thought as no group in their right mind would come here during the blizzard seasons. Even Urist's group was taking a chance by going dragon hunting this far off from home. Of course, dragon hunting is already dangerous, but do so during a blizzard season is near suicide.

The dwarves reach the foot of the mountain and climb the path leading up to the cave. Its entrance was covered by a tarp, most likely to shield whomever lay inside from the blizzard. Urist had his fellows ready themselves in case of the worst. Urist opens the tarp and charges inwards, only to meet a splash of some sort of liquid as a greeting. He felt a force against his chest, and soon felt his feet leave the ground. He hit the ground with a thud, the air left his lungs as a weight was brought down on his chest. Urist opened his eyes, and in his blurry vision he saw a red blob on top of him. His men, hearing the commotion, charged in with weapons raised. The red blob lifted itself off of Urist and retreated further into the cave, no doubt to get back up. Urist wiped the foul liquid from his eyes and waited for his vision to return. He signals his men to go on ahead of him while he recuperates, and they obey him without question.

"Wake up! We've got trouble!" Alain shouted as he ran back to the group.
