Cat had reached out without even realising it as Demetri and Nealaphh began to leave, stopping Nealaphh from going. They were planning on leaving her, but what if something happened? What if they never came back and they just left her there? Or something might come into the house and find her there. What if there were still cannibals on the island? Please.. don't leave me alone. I'm scared... please don't leave.. Cat didn't want to speak aloud, so she simply thought what she wanted to say knowing that Nealaphh could hear her anyways.
Demetri left while she had stopped Nealaphh, bidding farewell and stepping out before she could stop him. That combined with the shadowy person's irritation with her made her cling tighter to his arm. She didn't want to go back out... and it would ruin Nealaphh's disguise since he was supposed to have arrested her. She stared down at the slight imprints in her wrist left from the handcuffs as Nealaphh continued speaking, looking up in time to see the glass sculpture. It was pretty and intricate, enchanting to watch. She reached out to touch it nervously, then took it from him as her curiosity grew. I can do that...? How? How does it work? Is it magic? A trick? Some kind of illusion? Or is it some kind of matter manipulation? Light manipulation? It feels solid so it would have to be matter, right? How is it even possible? Cat glanced up to Nealaphh a bit nervously, looking him in the eye purposely for the first time before her gaze returned to the glass. Could you teach me how? Before you go? I'd only get in the way if I went with you because you did arrest me in front of all those people... they would be a bit concerned if they saw me with you agian as a companion instead of a prisoner. Unless, of course, you claimed to be returning me home... I don't see why a soldier would be escorting a commoner 'home' though, a foreign dignitary's child or any high ranking personnel's child would gain an escort, but they wouldn't believe that I could be that after earlier. It is best if I stay here... perhaps you could do something to prevent anyone but you and Demetri from entering the house? That way I won't get in your way while you work. Cat still didn't want him to leave her alone, but he did have more important things to do than to baby sit her. If she was protected inside the house then she wouldn't have to worry about what was outside, just focus on learning what she could like Nealaphh had suggested. Perhaps she could become accustomed enough with summoning things to create a protector.
