I think a big appeal of the Space Verse will be planetary exploration, though. But I figured even the smallest Planetoid would have Earth-Like gravity or more, so gravity wouldn't be an issue, unless the writer wanted it to be.

Ohhhh, I see. That's where this disconnect happened for me. I imagine if we wanna do planetary exploration that's where you'd run into issues.

Alternative suggestion: planet fade.
New and interesting planets coffee into and it if existence, seemingly at random. Entire planetary systems pop up and fade out over the course of a week. Some lady longer, some don't last as long.

The "core system" that Knowhere is located in sends to be fairly stable, and acts as a hub. When another system fades out, any characters or vessels find themselves back at the far edge of Knowhere space.

This way people can explore planets of any size, of any type and write the story they want to write without the fear that people will just use the Final Frontier as a replacement for every other verse. No bases can be made in anywhere but the hub system, etc etc

this makes a lot of sense, it could be explained that the system is a worm hole hot spot meaning that the way to get to different planets and systems is constantly changing .
