Getting closer to the gate Dean saw that the white clad figures he had seen were actually Stormtroopers. Storm friggin troopers. Was this some sort of pan universal sci fi convention? Or maybe it was just one of Cas' tricks to try and keep Dean in one place while Sammy undoubtedly would come to save him. It could be but it felt a little to real for that, but then again so was the time spent in that apocalypse future vision, and the many worlds Gabriel had trapped Sam and Dean in. Whatever this was at least this time Dean had a bit more power than he had before, so he was sure he could deal with it.
Walking up to the closest trooper Dean leaned in and gave the guard a serious look before speaking. “Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?” The armoured figure just sighed and shook his head as if this sort of thing happened all the time here.
“State your purpose Prime.” the Trooper said in that mechanical voice their helmets gave them. What was that he had called Dean? Prime? Dean liked that. Maybe he would go by Prime Dean now. OH! How about Dean Prime or, even better, SuperDean Prime! This caused Dean to grin again, showing off a bit more teeth then usual as he addressed the man in white armour.
“Clearly this is either the most elaborate prank the angels had decided to pull on me or that Omni guy wasn't bullshitting me. If this is some sort of alternate choose your own adventure world then I need to know what the hell is going on and SURPRISE! You are the lucky soul that gets to tell me.” That last bit was made to sound as if the trooper was actually not so lucky, and for a bit of flair Dean caused his eyes to flash black.
Either this trooper had balls made out of the same stuff as the gate he was guarding or 'conditions' like Deans' were pretty common around these parts. Either way the trooper started to drone off in that mechanical voice.
........
“Stop. STOP! Just stop or I am going to break something!” Dean interrupted. “So far all I've got was blah blah history empire blah blah war kingdom. Waste, greens and whatever. I think I am done.” Some of the information had actually sunk in before Deans' attention had started to drift, but just enough to know that the Empire and Kingdom where probably places that he wanted to avoid.
By the sounds of it the Endless Dunes or Ashen Steppes seemed like better options to start off from. He could head to one of the two. This might entail more aimless wandering but at least there might be something for him to take a stab at in these places, as in actually stab something. The mark was starting to grow just as impatient as he was.
