Mind Games [Behemoth and Millie]
#16
Only Omni knew where Millie was at this point. Right now, this battle was strictly between the Thrall and Behemoth, and there was no telling what the damage would be when it was all over. The might of this secondary's psychic prowess did startle the Thrall, however, and the flaming eye hesitated as Behemoth single handedly tore apart Millie's deepest thoughts and secrets. Surprisingly ruthless for someone who claimed to be a savior, but perhaps he was only a pretender. The Thrall could feel the man's self doubt trying to force its way out of his control. Perhaps this could be utilize.

The flaming abomination that Behemoth had summoned was impressive, but the Thrall was above the purview of such mental constructs. It knew where its priorities lie, and so, the Thrall turned to Behemoth's mind. It knew that it had struck a chord earlier when it had called him a fool, and showed him the extent of its abilities. Unveiling the aspect of terror may have been an effective way to infiltrate the girl's psyche, but this Behemoth was nonplused by such eldritch horrors. As such, the flaming eye and its associated tendrils all dispersed at once with a low, lingering laugh. The flaming monstrosity remained, but only to serve as the source of illumination for the impending conversation. All else withered into blackness, a featureless void that could neither be penetrated nor mapped. Isolation amongst vastness...and out of this impermeable umbra came Behemoth. Not the man who dared try and wrest Millie from the Thrall's control, but a shadow. The Thrall did not bother trying to affect the man's appearance. There were no shadows within the puppet's eyes, nor needlessly spooky veins crawling within his face. Behemoth simply stared at himself, as he was...

...and it was the thing he dreaded most. Self actualization; to confront his own hypocrisies and iniquities. The puppet walked to within twenty paces of Behemoth and offered him a wry smile, spreading its arms out.

"So, the stage has been set. The shrieking wretch is absent, and all that remains is either a reclamation or devastation..." Thrall Behemoth said, slapping his arms against his side.

"...how quaint. You ridicule me for brute force tactics when you yourself banish Millie within her own mind? At least I gave her a place to live. I would have had no reason to breach this sanctum if you had just let me expel you from her..." Behemoth said, pacing to the left and folding his hands behind his back. He inclined his head ever so slightly; a gesture that could denote condescension or smugness.

"Oh...but there is more in this for you than playing the role of the hero...the girl...she evokes your daughter, does she not?" Thrall Behemoth asked, a wide grin splitting his lips apart. His slitted eyes constricted to mere slivers and another throaty chuckle escaped his throat.

"Oh, we saw your little mementos. Your shrines. The girl may not have realized what she was looking at, but such things do not escape my notice. So...is it that you are a savior? Or merely a father desperate for redemption? Selfish, selfish, selfish..." Thrall Behemoth murmured, clucking his tongue and hanging his head low. His snake eyes bet Behemoth's own, and there was another damnable smile concealed within them.

You wanted this fight. Your move, savior.
And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued
