Secondary Currency

It's stated that Primes actually use Secondaries to gather OM, so I assume they use it as currency as well.

Yeah, it's kind of implied that they use it also, but maybe Primes are paying Secondaries in... something else? Maybe material goods the secondaries can actually use, you know? Why should a secondary be worried about carrying around OM if he can't do anything with it? Then again, we can't DO anything with our paper bills. I'm just curious if this is something that's been hammered out.

I actually intend on Sinestro posing as a secondary for the time being because he staunchly refuses to use his OM, so I figured it was a pertinent question.
