“Having fun?”

Victor leapt at the sound of that bored voice as he jolted his head around. There stood the pink-haired girl, standing in the aisle, staring him down intently. She cocked her head at him, arms crossed at the bewildered man.

“Ya ganna answer my question?”

Victor straightened himself out and faced the little child with some level of professionalism and grace.

“I was just enjoying one of your products.” He answered politely. “Is that a crime?”

“No, but it makes you look ridiculous when you do it in public.”

“Well I…” He was kind of at a loss for words. This child kind of got him with that one. He searched for an answer that would cover his ass. “I didn’t know I was in someone’s presence! I mean, there isn’t even a store clerk here.”

“Well, to be fair no point having clerks when everything’s free.” She stated plainly. She moved over and stretched an arm stub to grab one of the Hula Guus and brought it up to her face to look it over. She plops it into her mouth and swallows it with one gulp.

Victor’s dumbfoundedness was showing again. He desperately searched for something to break the air of awkwardness.

“So you come around here often?” He said, already realizing how stupid that line was. She looked up at him, staring him in the eyes for an awfully long time.

“Are you coming on to me?” She asked casually. Victor reacts flustered at the accusation.

“Wha?! No! I wasn’t! That’s not what I!” He couldn’t even spit out a proper sentence before she wrapped an arm around his neck and dragged him out of the store.

“We can continue our date in the food court, lover boy.”

“Please, that’s not what I meant!”

But his complaints were met with deaf ears.
