About the Author: Why this character?
#11
I have loved Mickey Mouse, as many people have, since I was a very young boy.

In some ways, I never really connected with any of the other Disney "stars" the way I did with Mickey. Even when I was young and watching House of Mouse, I always preferred watching a Mickey cartoon rather than Goofy, or Donald, or Daisy, etc. This is gonna sound lame, but I think I saw myself in him a little, a plucky little guy who's always trying to be the hero.

When I was trying to pick a character for here, I didn't originally pick Mickey. I chose the Jedi Exile, because she had a clear jumping off point to go from in her canon and had a lot of customization purposes. But as I was writing up my joining app, it didn't really click with me. So, I decided that I wanted to play a hero. A character that was sort of a beacon of hope, and would try his best to survive in a rough world with good ideals. Mickey sprung to mind, especially since I had fallen in love with the badass adaptation of him in Kingdom Hearts. So I based my Mickey off of that Mickey, and here we are.

So far, he has succeeded in making me happy. The Omniverse is being crueler to him than I expected, but he's taking it all and will hopefully rise from the ashes a stronger character, even more dedicated to his code than he was when he came in. I like the idea that I can take someone who is a cartoonish character (no pun intended) and maybe turn him into something engaging and very real. So, yeah, that's why Mickey.

Also, he's fucking adorable.
