Day One: Part 1

[Jack Frost]

Jack looked at Retane as he dropped down from a tree, landing on one leg. "So that was a bit rough."

The namekian looked up to catch Jack's strained smile and closed his hand. Jack saw that the hand and his other were bloody and recognized that Retane had acquired a stick with a curved blade as well as a schraded back end. "Wow, who did you have to kill to get that?" Jack laughed but it slowly died out as h realized what he had said.

"He wore a red suit, had some lightning bolts, was the faster out of everyone there it seemed. I didn't stop to ask him his name." The namek was pretty blunt with his words, and Jack almost could understand why.

"So you killed him but we didn't get the 'fancy hammer'?" Frost did his best to hide his own injury from his friend as he lowered his injured leg slowly.

"Seems so, I don't know how it ended, but I know we got the first kill of the Abyss." Retane shot an evil smile that vanished quickly.

Jack heard 'we' and felt a little prouder, knowing he meant the Horsemen as a whole, "Sorry I couldn't do much more." Frost thew up his shoulders in a shrug. "I don't have Savior, so I'm a lot weaker then before. "

"Don't count yourself short, I just killed a man with with my bare hands, as the rest stood there and watched. You can jump high, can climb trees, and can jump from a tree and land on a single leg. " Do you think everyone else can do that?"The namek strode forth a step pushing off the tree he leaned against, and grimaced slightly with the step." You defended myself and yourself from a strong attack. I only got an injured leg. It's not enough to really affect me but it could have been a lot worst. "

The Guardian of the Horsemen felt proud then, and took a step himself, revealing that he too had lost his virginity to Dante's Abyss and walked with a limp. The green warrior noticed it immediately and gave a concerned look, but the Ice Man quickly laughed it off, "I'm good! I can still play hopscotch."

The namekian paused confused, but shook his head after a few moments as Jack demonstrated the game with three staggering hops. Jack only laughed doing his best to make the light of the situation, but Jack knew all too well, that things were serious. He wasn't sure if he was prepared for them, but he had never been prepared to have to fight Pitch Black head on, put he had found a way to do so. He had to believe then, that he and his friend could do this, not matter the odds. Even without Savior, he had to make sure that Himself and Retane lived. He knew it was his job to protect Retane, but if he died, he wouldn't be able to.

Jack nodded slightly to himself and gave a sigh as he limped forward to his comrade and placed a hand on the green guy's shoulder, "Don't worry about me so much. It's your job to dirty work, and my job to follow you right? You go get us the kills and I'll do my best to help you."

Retane let out one of his famous low growls and placed the pole-axe against his own shoulder and produced the mirror. Well what was once a mirror, though the glass was broke and the metal frame was dented. Jack offered a confused glance, curious at the reason, "You need a weapon, and that thing you have sucks. At least with this you can club them if they get close, that or stab them with the pointed end. "

Jack nodded as he too the broken mirror for a second and felt weird. It had flesh and blood on but Jack accepted at what he must do, and laughed as he looked up, "So who has the bad luck?"

Retane raised a brow, and Frost couldn't help but grin, "Superstition man. Break a Mirror get bad luck? That or you were just so hideous."

The Dark Hunter let out a sigh and played along, "Must've been him. He was the one wearing the mask."

The Guardian of the Horsemen laughed for a second then looked to his fellow Horsemen's right shoulder, "What is that?"
