A gosh darn picnic!
Karl couldn’t understand how some of the contestants were passing the time. The two people he was watching had just robbed the hammer of a demigod from a mob of bloodthirsty killers, and now they were just watching the sunrise and eating chili and porkchops.
For whatever reason, everyone else in the room seemed to be eating it up. Even though most of the people mimized their private feeds, Karl knew that most of them were watching the adorable little scene playing out in an area of the island they had all started to nickname ‘Blood Row.’ It wasn’t Death Row quite yet, but with any luck, that could change in the near future.

Erza and Mickey were enjoying their picnic when they heard the rustling noise that was just a little too loud to be a wild animal. The woman and the mouse turned and both saw the little rock rolling down the gentle slope of the plain. After a silent moment, they both shrugged their shoulders and returned to their delicious meals.
And that was when the Molotov cocktail exploded right between the two of them. In a heartbeat, the little picnic scene was a hellish inferno as the two allies—both with burning clothes—frantically tried to snuff out the flames vying to consume their bodies. As they thrashed, the air next to them rippled, and a pale-skinned man in black and red stepped out of his stealth.
With a scowl, Vincent Valentine threw a kick at the burning woman, catching her in the jaw as she fumbled for the giant gun lying next to her. Before the ex-Turk could grab the oversized firearm, the mouse lunged at him, flames and all. Vincent hit the ground and threw out a fist, batting away Mickey’s hand just as it released an energy blast into the morning sky. With a grunt, the pale prime shoved the mouse off his chest and sprang to his feet. As he turned around, he saw that the woman was pointing a hammer at him, and the expression on her face was a radical departure from the smile and happiness that Vincent had observed earlier.
A bolt of lightning erupted from Mjolnir and slammed into Vincent. For a brief moment, he felt his life flash before his eyes, but after the initial, blood vessel-bursting impact, his heart started to beat once again. By that time, the mouse had doused his own coat of flames and risen up next to his ally.
Knowing that his time was up, Vincent threw out a palm. His collar flickered as it granted him access to his normal abilities, and before the woman or the mouse could strike him down, the ex-Turk released the overflow blast. The giant onslaught of energized blasts materialized from thin air and screamed through the air at the pair of primes. Finding solace in one another, they hugged each other close, making themselves one small target for only a handful of the beams.
When the attack faded away, they both opened their eyes to see that Vincent was gone. The pale prime had vanished into the cover of stealth to nurse his own wounds.
