Do people start in solid squares of water or only in squares that have some bit of land in them? *Playing the odds game* lol

Also, do you F2F when walking through a square? Like from H5;H6 to H6;H7 to H7;I7, did I F2F if someone was on H6? What if there were people on all of these squares, what happens?
