Tyrande hopped down from her frostsaber, giving an attentive pat to it as she did so. It licked her hand and then stood behind as she crossed the distance to Whirda.
“You’re not very grateful.”
Whirda shot her a look of hatred.
“I will not force you to come. But the way I see it, you owe us. It’s not often we get involved with … outsiders. But the outside has deemed to involve itself with us, so it seems only appropriate.”
Nyx cocked her head. “What are you talking about?”
Deciding to talk to the more reasonable of the duo, Tyrande looked over. “I will cut to the chase. We have a problem. There is a … blight spreading in the forest. We believe it to have originated in the Pale Moors. We will pay you to go there, and find a cure.”
“Pay us?” asked Nyx. She hadn’t even considered money, or the need for it, since arriving in the Omniverse. “What with?”
The high priestess looked blank for a moment, as though regarding a troll. “Omnilium, of course.”
“This blight,” interjected Whirda. “How did it get here?”
Tyrande hesitated. “One of our scouts … died on their trip back to base. We believe her body is what began the spread of the blight in the forest.”
The blonde snorted. “Seems to me it’s your own fault.”
“Enough,” growled Tyrande. “You can take our offer, come with us to prepare, or head to the Moors. Or you can take your chances in the forest.” She turned around, walked back to her frostsaber, mounted up, and fixed them with her intense blue eyes. “Make up your minds.”
