About the Author: Why this character?

Legend of Zelda has been my favourite series since I was 12. I've always been attracted to the good vs. evil story, and nothing gives me goosebumps like a powered up good guy going up against a world ending bad guy. Ocarina of Time captured that perfectly with Link vs. Ganondorf, and the series has never disappointed since. Thus Link to me is the quintessential good guy, and for the most part, I'm going to keep him that way. Some people like to take a straight shooting goody and give him some dark morally grey issues to deal with, which usually end up turning them a little jaded or more world weary. While I intend to expand Link's character, I won't be going into that. It's just a little boring to me.

I was a huge fan of Warcraft 3, and the night elves were always my favourite. I loved the idea of druidism, but I always liked Illidan as a character more than Malfurion. In fact, in an earlier iteration of AD, I was Illidan if he had become a druid. However this time I chose Illidan because 1) I really like his history and 2) I'm fond of the whole 'fight fire with fire' power set/attitude he has. Instead of going villain to anti-hero, I'm looking to see if I can go the other way. It'll be a test for me, since I would usually go evil > good or at least evil > neutral (I believe Orion was a good example of the latter), but I think I can do it.
