About the Author: Why this character?
#8
When I first started playing as Violet over on Chubbs almost 10 (!!!) years ago, she wasn't even my first choice. I wanted Pan, but she was already taken by a girl named Amy, who was one of the first people over on that RPG and had had her for quite some time, even though she was pretty much inactive. Heffers (HF17) thought I was some some douche named Bon Para (who I guess had been causing trouble before I came) but Becca (18) cleared me after I made another roleplay.

I didn't expect Captain Violet (who is probably one of the most obscure characters in DBZ, appearing in maybe two episodes very briefly) to become who she is now. As I started writing her and finding her voice, I just started to become deeply connected with this character and inspired some of her life events off some of my favorite things, such as The Bride from Kill Bill. Eventually, she just continued to evolve into this character that had a really fucked up life and just wanted out of it, but despite what she tried, the life just kept dragging her back. Eventually, she obliged, and decided that if she can't get out of the life, she'd change it to something that better served her.

In a lot of ways, writing this character was my therapy for my own fucked up real life. I would rather not divulge details other than to whom I've already shared about it. I feel many people misunderstand my obsession with wanting to hold on to her, why it is so difficult for me to "let go". Violet is, in a sense, my release from a lot of things. She's helped me deal with my issues with love, friendship, and relationships in general, which I tended to shy away from because of my issues with the people and environment I was around at the time. For example, when I felt weak, I helped get through it by being strong in character. It was like that for a lot of scenarios I had difficulty working through.

Violet is my baby. She's the character that I took from being this obscure canon character and made into a custom before customs were even permitted on Chubbs. I formed a lot of great friendships with people there both in character and out of it, and a lot of them were facilitated by this character.

I've done a lot with her, and I look forward to doing even more awesome stuff with her, especially in this new setting where I have a bit more freedom to explore elements that I would not have been able to mess with over there. It's been a while since I've written more stories for her, and I look forward to writing many more here.
