Crisis Averted - Recruiting Gildarts
A scowl hovered over the average looking Coruscantian who was adorned in some business slacks and attempting to motion people's attention on the bustling city street. Most paid no mind and the man crumpled a crisp piece of paper on his folded clipboard. The businessman was down on his luck and had hoped to impress Karl with the highest number of recruits, however what the henchman really wanted was validation for doing something nearly impossible, as well as the reward that would come with it. Of course, everyone seemed to be vying for it, Karl was the richest man in the Omniverse and his authority knew no bounds. Even Primes wanted to win the event for the sole purpose of their names being known just as the mention of Karl left a powerful impression on people. I just need one more, he told himself as he picked out a few taller people from the crowd. Waving his gesticulating arms wasn't enough to captivate the many potential victims, Man it's hard to get their attention over those flashing lights, maybe if I try standing a little taller...
The secondary stepped upward on the high curb of a street corner, however as he did this the wooden clipboard was flung from his hands and into the cheek of a distinguished Prime passing by. OH NO! Actually, how very... Convenient. His scowl crept into a nefarious simper as he allowed his face to morph into an expression that emulated a believable concern for his folly and his victim's well being. With a false sincerity, the Coruscantian hopped down from his hunting perch in a hastened distress, "Oh my! I really am ever so sorry! To think I would accidentally hit a Prime with my ignorance!" The desperation in his voice was emphasized yet he had slyly woven in the assumption that the male was a Prime in order to get a cue of response that would allow him to pursue his goal further, "You must forgive me, you really must!"
No matter how melodramatic the secondary made his exclamation, the cloaked Prime he had addressed didn't even turn to him. Contempt swelled within the recruiter, He's ignoring me? How dare he stoop that low! With a flare of anger he man grabbed his clipboard and noticed the Prime hadn't even slowed his pace. How can he pretend I don't exist? I hit his face for gods sake! The businessman reflected, before insurmountable rage grew within him and he set his focus solely on demeaning the Prime.
With a challenge, the enraged male stood in front of the looming Prime to halt the strength of his foe’s well paced stride; clipboard-man's smile had wiped off with the bitter taste of dissatisfaction and only the crunched wrinkles around his eyes offered any sincerity to his words.
"Oh uh.. Excuse me!"
"Huh? Oh, didn't see you there little man," Gildarts slowed his speed some yet didn't cease his momentum completely, confidence exuded in the Prime’s steady posture and sharp shoulders.
Didn't see me? I launched a clipboard at your face! The male gulped down his outrage in an attempt to maintain his composure, yet as he did this, he selectively heard an insulting word. Little? Out of agitation his eye twitched uncontrollably, so it appeared that the male was lecherously winking at the Prime. Despite the phony behavior he was exhibiting, there was no real reaction from the eternally oblivious Prime.
Heat rose to the surface of the businessman who extended a hand, "Hello, my name’s Kindal and I'd like to make you an offer you won't regret!"
Gildarts cast an obscure glance toward the man, "Do you need something?"
Kindal continued, "It's not about what I need, it's about what you could have! If you give me a moment of your time-"
No interest was expressed from the Prime, who brushed absently past the man's extended hand, "Actually, I was just on my way back to finding Tenrou Island, but was distracted by the earthquake. Unless what you are selling has something to do with that, if you don't mind, I'll be on my way." Gildarts didn’t like the look of the strange man, for the intent he exuded was sinister and diabolical as though it was Kindal’s nature to the very core.
Kindal would not be dismissed so easily, even if it meant the cost of a lie, "That's the exact island we're sending people to!"
"Oh? Tell me what you know." It was a demand, there was a sliver of suspicion residing in his question, because Tenrou wasn't a tourist spot yet at the same time Gildarts felt his skeptical thoughts trumped at the idea of finding his old guild.
"Hang on, hang on..." Gildarts was now in the man's villainous clutches as Kindal asked, "I'll need you to sign this first in order to disclose any information.
"What does a man of this realm have anything to do with Tenrou Island, accessible only to members of Fairy Tail?" The sternness of his voice promoted his powerful ability to conquer a conversation if he wanted to.
Kindal's eyes widened, he had misspoken, however this could be quickly annulled. "Oh, but you must sign before I say much more," the carefully crafted pleading in his tone pleased only himself.
Gildarts blinked and hesitated before letting his anger get the best of him, what was a piece of paper to such a powerful Prime? His signature meant nothing however Gildarts surmised that it seemed to be worth something if the man wanted to barter for it. "You'll tell me." A heavy clinking step closer to the short fellow would intimidate him further.
"You'll sign first." Kindal clenched his feet and held his ground while his fingers shivered manically in delight. What a bargain! Karl will be so pleased, an unknowing Prime's participating for the small price of a costless lie. What a profit I'll turn over from this idiot. He won't hurt me, if he does I'll get the troopers to back me up, this Prime really isn’t thinking. Hah! All bulk and no mass in the head, I'd say!
Gildarts clasped a fist and restrained the surge in his will, "As a wizard of Fairy Tail, I will never back down to those who think lightly enough of me to challenge me. Do as I say or I'll find someone else." Gildarts played on his own importance and began another step with an uninterested look on his face only to see Kindal's expression warp into one distressed with fear. He had underestimated the disheveled Prime.
"Wait, wait, don't go! Alright, I'll admit it, I wanted it to be a... A surprise," His chin dipped with false disgrace, "It's supposed to be surprise cruise for Primes, we sail across the oceans and past a few assorted islands. I recalled that that name was on the list of ports we are docking at and I wanted you to sign up. We only have a few more rooms available."
"Why didn't you just say so?" It seemed Gildarts had bought into the lie that there existed a cruise ship that could actually take people out of the Omniverse, "But how in the world did you get a cruise ship that can escape the Omniverse? I was told my world is very far from here and no one is able to leave his place."
No such thing exists you idiot or else I'd be out of here! Kindal thought before a response parted from his lips, "Oh, the destination is most certainly of itself, truly a world apart from the Omniverse indeed! To get there, we must go to the Nexus. You do remember that’s where you arrived on your first day here? Well, it turns out they found an exit there too."
The Prime’s hand protruded from his parted cape and revealed metallic limbs shackled to his body. Kindal lead the way to the Nexus gate as he kept his eyes on the Prime. What a prize... What a PRIZE! "My, my, how truly lucky we are to have you! Right this way mister... Uhh...
“Gildarts.”
The merchant of death, Kindal, was glad to know that the sign ups went swimmingly. There was no one in line and they had either beat the rush or missed it. Sweat formed on the Coruscantian’s brow as now he only had to get the Prime into the Dante Verse, there would be no escaping it then. With a little scheming, Kindal would be able to effortlessly trick the Prime into signing his name on the dotted line.
“Shit!” Kindal muttered softer than Gildarts could hear. How am I gonna get him to display his power?! Argh, one part of the plan -perhaps the most important- and I overlooked it. I’ll never get the promotion now. Wealth... Fame... Power... It could all be mine! I just need this Prime to get angry. But then, he had a thought.
Kindal and Gildarts approached the registration booth that bordered the Coruscant portal. He was met with his competition who wore collared polo shirts with Syntex logos over their chests.
“Morning!” Kindal was too overjoyed and his direct acknowledgement of the underlings was enough to tell them something was off. “Can I get the papers? Then this Prime here will be able to leave the Omniverse! Ain’ that right boys?”
“Uh, yessir Mr. Kindal.” One of the corporation’s finest procured a piece of paper and a pen, and handed it to the mysterious Prime.
“Sign that, Gildarts.” Kindal ordered before softening his tone into one of manipulation, delivered with ease and finesse, “Because we aren’t charging you anything for the cost of departure, all you have to do is offer a promotional speech. Introduce yourself here, and show us what makes you... Special.”
“Special?” Gildarts echoed. This was a strange requirement.
“Yah, it’s a corporation promotion thing. Nothing major.”
The bewildered immortal thought about it, as a strange black orb was thrust into his personal space. As this happened and Gildarts seemed to be distracted by his thoughts, a Syntex employee whispered to Karl, “Are you sure about this? What happens if he gets angry?”
“Hah, he can take it out on those in the game of course. And, he’ll be trapped there.” Kindal’s low voice bounced back.
Gildarts looked at the recording device for a moment and then back at Kindal, “Not really sure if I’m good at this sort of thing.”
“Just say your name, and include something about yourself.” Kindal scoffed, “It’s not that hard.”
“Uhh... The name’s Gildarts.” The Prime offered feeling the unwanted authority swell from within.
“C’mon, I know you can do better than that. Impress them, the producers are going out on a limb for you! For Omni’s sake!”
Gildarts seemed oblivious, and definitely had no idea what a “producer” was. Kindal was fed up and decided his plan would have to be put into action. “Give me your gun.” Kindal took the emergency rounds saved for those unsavory Primes who had continued to raid the Stormtrooper platoons in the Nexus.
The revolver was aimed at the Prime who cocked his head to the challenge. Kindal’s henchmen shouted, “Don’t! You’ll kill him!”
Another agreed, “We don’t want damaged goods!”
Kindal shrugged. “Silence you idiots! Primes don’t die.” The unquenchable thirst for revenge wasn’t enough to dissuade him of his prize. He was entitled to it, Gildarts had called him little and Kindal would take his death into his own hands. A free shot. There was a chance that Dante’s Abyss would be the kind of hell this Prime could endure and Kindal now took the opportunity to teach him a lesson. If he dies, he’ll just come back in the Nexus, and if I graze him, they’ll probably stitch him up on the other side... Probably. His eye angled down the snout of the gun and he muttered, “Fire.”
With a bang, Gildarts deployed a shield before the trigger could have clicked completely back. By the time the bullet had reached him, it seemed to slice in two. A close up of the bullet zoomed towards the crew before a fragment chipped off and propelled into the lens of the now out-of-commission camera which recorded only static from its live feed.
Kindal smirked, he was either impressed or just glad to blow off some steam, but his disguised smile wasn't enough to completely hide the disappointment in his eyes. The Coruscantian wanted him dead. The evident rivalry between them had been captured on camera, filmed for the crowd, and while Kindal had retired from his days of mercenary work, he still had great aim and appeared to have scraped a few hairs from the side of the tall man’s head.
“Damn Kindal, were you going for a headshot? Good thing he deflected it or things could’a gotten real messy...”
Gildarts had creased his expression as the spiraling shield hovered in front of his head and chest. Menace creased his expression. “Whoa this is so real!” The other camera man recorded with a handheld strapped to his palm.
“Whats the big idea?” Gildarts growled angrily and noticed the nozzle of the weapon was still aimed at his face.
Kindal reluctantly lowered it and that was when the Prime charged in with a fist that would have knocked the strong secondary back, had it landed. Gildarts paused, exercising restraint at the last second and clenched his fingers an inch above the man’s nose.
“Haha, you had me thinking you were serious for a moment, good shot. Almost had me there.” Gildarts grinned and slapped the man’s back painfully.
“Please, I wouldn’t want any hard feelings,” Kindal exhaled a breath of relief as he lied through his teeth, glad to see his action was interpreted as playful, and directed him through the gate.
“Right this way out of the Omniverse...” Into Karl’s hell... And to your death!

Quote:
Appearance –
Please note: Gildarts has two appendages (left arm, left leg) that are prosthetic and made out of steel (making them essentially battle friendly) these are covered by his dark cloak and I didn’t want them to be mistaken for something else. He also wears bandages around his abdomen and over his shoulder, peeking from behind these are scars from his many battles as well as his Fairy Tail emblem.
Personality –
In battle, Gildarts is an intense guy, even in a glance it almost seems as though his eyes greet your soul. But usually, he's laid-back and pretty oblivious to his surroundings unless they are useful to him. On a dime he can switch from leisurely to battle ready.
He isn’t one to back down from a challenge and takes pride in himself without feeling the necessity to talk down to others, or boast his own ability. He jives well with everyone (even people or villains with unaligned motives) and is quickly able to earn the respect of those who have great power and/or the courage enough to oppose him. That being said, he has one great weakness above all else.
Weakness: Beautiful women
Other notable vulnerabilities: Authority (his own leadership except when in battle) and occasionally his priorities can be too strong or misplaced. Lone-wolf mentality in most situations sometimes isolates him from a group.
Other Assets: Faith, willpower, sense of purpose. Gildarts, a veteran of battle, adapts to change quickly and tends to jump at the chance to protect others who cannot protect themselves and his charismatic behavior inspires others in times of strife. Gildarts fights better and more purposely when he has something to defend.
Possible Reactions – Gildarts is a noble guy and wouldn't like to see other characters ganging up on one weak one, so he might join to defend them. He likes battle because he can use his power freely, yet hates when people he cares about have been wronged or betrayed. Gildarts was tricked into joining the competition and will probably consider “boycotting” it for as long as possible, but that is not to say he will not fight for his life or a good time. (He’ll quickly warm up to the challenge).
When met with a respectable opponent, I could see where Gildarts might opt for a duel type battle.
Gildarts would respond to people he doesn't like by fighting fiercer and he would bring more action to the table. He always respects his opponent and quickly learns from their strategy.
Example - Gildarts has entered the competition after being told he will be taken out of the Omniverse and back to his home world where his daughter and entire guild are waiting to be rescued by him. Gildarts wouldn’t want to kill anyone unless it was an accident but if the challenge is stated (to the death) he would finish an enemy off because there would be no other choice.
As Gildarts becomes more active in the battle he will actually begin to enjoy testing his power out against powerful opponents.
Gildarts will want to win because he likes to be the best. He considers himself a champion and is committed to his training and reputation. He also will want a little revenge on Karl, Kindal, and Omni. Kindal for tricking him there, Karl for creating it in the first place, and Omni for being pulled from his world.
Relationships – Gildarts is a member of Guu's faction but does not know she is participating.
Side note: Erza would be recognized as they are both acquainted with one another from their home verse.
‘Combat’ Style – Gildarts is the type to defend his allies, however when he is up against an enemy he will match their fists with his own in a brawl to see which one is stronger.
When in battle, Gildarts hopes to outmatch his opponent by using sheer power to dominate them and favors his fists to do so. He isn't the type to be overly flamboyant if he doesn't have to be (example: he wouldn't kick through a tree trunk just to pick it up as a log and swing it at someone- thought if it benefited him he would attempt to make the duffle bag a swing weapon or improvise using his surroundings). On the other hand, he would put all of his strength into a single move because his strategy, formed by experience, surrounds the realistic idea that he will never know when he will be able to land another hit. Of course, this depends on whether the item he receives matches or can be used to match his usual style.
Eligible Powers – Basic Jump, Burst Movement, Insight, Stealth
Moves – Omitted moves.
Crash and Burn Cost: 800 OM (requires ranged/physical strength)
Tier 1 Super Move (Defensive: Crash and Disassembly Magic) - 2 SP
In this defensive Super Move, Gildarts has a powerful attack aimed towards him and it is propelling through the air. It seems as though it is inevitable that the massive energy will collide with him and he readies himself in an avid stance.
Gildarts extends a palm outward and releases his disassembly magic into what becomes a white ‘X’ in the face of the oncoming magic. (If it helps you to picture it, the X is like a shield or barrier.) As his netted white energy intercepts the attack aimed at Gildarts, his magic disperses through the oncoming magic that stagnates the attack before it becomes many cubes in the air and the attack is obliterated all together.
Drawbacks: Because this is a defensive move I didn’t want the major drawback to be speed or charge up time, after-all, if he doesn’t have time to deploy it it’s pointless. The massive drawback is aim and focus. Gildarts must stand entirely still. If he attempts to dodge another attack that is oncoming while he has actively released the defensive super move, the wave of energy will become disfigured and will not be an effective defense. The opponent’s move that has stagnated is converting into separating the magic and Gildarts is matching its power, suddenly he is unable to do so as his focus has been disrupted. With his concentration completely gone the opponent’s move will hit him head on and at the close distance there would be no time to run or dodge.
Another drawback is that the opponent’s intercepted magic does not loose its properties, so if it were a move with a debuff it could still potentially pose as a hazard to Gildarts.
Primary function: Defensive move that is usually used on an abiotic target and intentionally disrupts oncoming attacks. Please note that because this works similarly to a shield, it would respectively intercept multiple projectile beams if the targeted location was within the same area as the cast spell and the interception times were not too far apart (such as a rapid weapon) because the move stagnates to absorb and obliterate the power it has crossed with, it would include an attack with similarly aimed multiple projectiles.
Crushing Evil, Spreading the Truth: Empyrean (requires physical strength) Cost: 800 OM
Tier 1 Super move (Offensive: Crash Magic) - 2 SP
White energy released from his fist in an uppercut that has charged crash magic in it. The strength is powerful enough to send his enemy flying in a spiral upwards. The overall effect is a ‘defeated’ opponent who has been launched out of Gildarts’ sight.
Gildarts activates this move when the malice in his blood feels like ice. The Prime focuses his energy in his right fist (cannot be used by left prosthetic) and launches himself at the opponent. His fist finds its mark when the opponent has left his chin wide open and suddenly the enemy is launched into the air after feeling a weight strong enough to crush their jaw collide into their chin. The force that could shatter skulls instead the target’s body follows the momentum of his blow and is carried upward in a white spiral.
Drawbacks:
A Requirement before the move is deployed: Resolve. Gildarts must deem his adversary as evil (or an evil creature) and/or has seen them do something unforgivable. This drawback is flexible due to character interaction because it makes Gildarts the judge.
Another drawback is the charge up time of at least five seconds, this variable is necessary for his blow to land with finesse and launch effectively upward. Gildarts must also charge at the enemy head-on, putting him at risk for any oncoming attacks that he could dodge if he slanted his route. If it is not given enough time the energy will backfire and the momentum will carry Gildarts away from his enemy
*this is not a one hit KO move
T2 offensive super move
Crushing Evil, Spreading Truth: Ikazuchi
The Crash Magic user is at it again, this powerful spell is used on the most formidable of foes. Gildarts charges the power in his fist so that it visibly contorts with light, and launches it at his enemy. The fist is weighed with a heavy amount of magic, so much so that it crackles with static in the air around it.
Though Gildarts uses "Crash" magic, he is able to harness the raw destructive power of lightning as it streaks across the air with his very swing. The punch lands and is intended to create a powerful impact in the target, as well as send a ripple of crash magic through their body.
Drawbacks: aside from a charge up time of about ten seconds, Gildarts must focus on the enemy and land the blow on a somewhat flat surface for the full shock of the blow to be delivered. When Gildartts misses, it will take him twice as long to charge up again.
T1 Transformation
Rocks crumble and shake around this Crash Magic user, as Gildarts powers up and waves of energy surge through the air. White light surrounds his body as the rock beneath him begins to crack into large chunks. While in this power-up, Gildarts gains speed and agility, and utilizes them well during a battle.

Extra – He doesn't like to loose but in the same way he will probably do it honorably.
Cannon-wise Gildarts is sort of the 'finale' guy. Fights never seem to last long when he is around and usually end as quickly as they begin. He is not one to dawdle or stretch out the inevitable and I consider him pretty badass.
Gildarts doesn’t carry tools because his magic is more or less considered the ultimate weapon in his home world.
Before he gets “real” in a battle, he’ll throw off his cloak. (Like Piccolo?)
