About the Author: Why this character?

I think I made a similar post to this one waaaaaaay back, but it's always nice to see old discussions crop back up.

I think that main thing that sticks as to why I picked Jon up would be he's a different kind of character. A league away from the normal expectations. He's not a witty badass with a million different moves and weapon types or some chosen one who's been everywhere and done everything. He's a heroic and selfless guy, certainly, but in his own rugged and eclipsed kind of way. What made me pick Jon amongst the rest though is that fact that he's just a human being; nothing more and nothing less that that. He's just a normal guy with dreams, ambitions, hopes and wishes who was born into a harsh, unrelenting and hostile world with a less than savoury start in life (being an illegitimate child). He has a really firm set of moral codes and ethics to stand by, and it's really fun and sometimes rewarding as a writer to craft scenarios which force him to revise and even overcome his own moral sensibility and belief's. It's pretty easy to relate and step into Jon's shoes and relate to him for me since he's something out of an outcast due to being a bastard child, and I'm sure we all know how being outcasted can feel sometimes.

And for Knox, well... why not? He's my OC, my creation from my imagination
