Quote:Continued from “The First Door”
The yellow door opened up and tossed Guu’s tiny butt into the dirt. It slammed behind her and dissipated into beams of light. She just kind of sat there, her brain still processing everything that had just happened to her. Her mind was blank, all accept one phrase: ‘The fuck was that?’
After a moment, her mind drifted out of the daze. She started hearing the sounds of nature again, feeling the sun on her face, and she realized just how glad she was just to be out of the enclosed space. Being in such an airtight place for so long was unhealthy for anyone, especially when you are going through THAT at the same time. She climbed to her feet and looked for the sun. From the looks of it, she must have been in there for three to four hours. Felt like longer. She made her way down into Ambrosia.
Not long after walking into town, she noticed something was up. A bunch of people was gathered in the middle of Town Square. Considering these are people who could have been out in the harvest, they must have been gathered for something important. As soon as someone pointed out the approaching pink princess, Sylvia hurried over to her.
“Where have you been?” She asked, both frustrated and relieved.
“I had a short errand to run that turned out to be a not-so-short one.”
“You know what? It doesn’t matter. Come to the rest of the group, your help is needed.”
Guu was briefed on the lost animals in the woods. She was shown the youtube video from before, and even some of the tweets that have been exchanged between them and the survivors.
“We’ve been brainstorming ideas all afternoon, but the forest is too dangerous for someone as old as us. The spirits only provide safe passage for children and those accompanied by children. That’s why we need your help Guu. I’m just worried you and whomever we send with you will get lost.”
“Sounds like a piece of cake to me.” Guu responded. “I have magical senses that could pick things up from pretty far away. All I’d need to do is walk a random direction and I’ll pick them up eventually.”
“That’d be great but how would you get back?” She said, concerned.
“Oh, I’ll have some means of finding my way back, trust me. Now excuse me, I should tweet the animals I’ll be saving.”
She pulls out her dataverse device and quickly gets on OmniTwitter.
Quote:Tweets!
She closed her device and shoved it down her throat.
“Alright, I’ll go get set up then. I’ll go on my own.”
“What?” the gothic second reacted.
“The more that come along, the more will be in danger. I’ll be safe on my own.”
“Wait Guu!” interrupted Sylvia, concerned. “There’s something you should know. Not only are there wild animals in there, but also it was discovered that there’s a family of cockatrices on the loose. Please don’t get yourself turned into stone.”
Guu paused for a moment and then burst into uproarious laughter (or at least for how much her monotone could muster.) The group looked at her like she was insane.
“Oh, there was only that one Cockatrice. Yeah, I sort of faked the food prints of a flock.” She said. She lifted up her skirt and showed that her feet had transformed into a pair of talons. “Left tracks everywhere. You’re parents totally bought it!”
All the teens looked at her in utter bewilderment. She continued.
“Yeah, it’s kind of a long story. Basically, I kind of had to for a child to be spared. Anyways I’ll be on my way.”
She runs off in the direction of the woods, the group just stunned.
Guu made her way to the edge of the forest. The weather was beautiful, she was glad she was able to go on a nature hike today. She needed it after her recent experience She wrapped her arm around a tree and tied it neatly in a knot. Then she faced the wilderness and prepared to take her first step.
But Sylvia shows up behind her.
“I just wanted to say, be careful out there Guu. We don’t know what we’d do if we lost you.” She said.
Guu peered over her shoulder, looked her directly in the eyes and gsve a small cocky little smile.
“I’m a prime, you can’t get rid me that easily.”
Sylvia chuckled at this. She watched as Guu marched forward into the woods.
