(Pre-Show) Registration Booths (WHERE YOU SIGN UP IC)
#14
After being escorted to a strange looking tent outside of the small town she’d arrived in, Violet found herself in a somewhat familiar setting: a staging area filled with potential contestants, a small army of staff, and lots of cameras and other electronic devices. It was perhaps the only place in the entirety of Camelot that had any semblance of modern technology. Maybe this exposure to such things by the inhabitants of the realm would get them hip to things like television, telephones and fucking showers. One could only hope.

It was quite late at night, or early morning, depending on perspective, so lines weren’t terribly long. She waited patiently, just her and her thoughts, as candidate after candidate was processed, filmed and sent off. Her apprehension towards signing up for a third time for such a brutal tournament showed in the clamminess of her skin, the quickness of her heartbeat, and the sheen of sweat that glistened across her pale brow. Killing for entertainment was not exactly her idea of a good time, but by doing so, it would help her succeed in the bigger picture: making a name for herself so the elite of Coruscant would take an interest in her and perhaps invite her in to their fold. By being billed as a skilled fighter, there was a good chance she could get in somewhere important, or so Charles explained.

So, she swallowed her pride and stepped up to a waiting attendant, her million dollar smile plastered across her face. She made it look even more real by letting it fill her eyes with a soft, warm glow.

“Welcome. Are you ready to sign up for the tournament?” A young man, no older than thirty, greeted her with a cheeriness that would rival any telemarketer. He was clad in a pair of sensible black slacks that fell over shiny black loafers, with a casual white polo shirt tucked in to the belted waist of his pants. He wore nothing that would make him stand out from the others, except for his black hair, which unbound would have fallen past his shoulders. It was unusual for a man to have such long hair, but it did make him even more striking in appearance. She liked it.

“Yes,” Violet nodded, shoving him the invitation Charles had given her earlier. “I am ready.”

“Great!” he said, pulling his clipboard from the little desk behind him. “Would you mind standing over there in front of the white drape? We’re going to take a video and ask some questions.”

Doing as she was directed, Violet turned to face the man, standing at parade rest, arms clasped behind her. It was a position she’d done since learning her father was a soldier, and his actions had certainly influenced his young daughter. Some people are taught, some people are just born with the ability. She was the latter.

“Okay,” he powered the camera on, a little red light blinked furiously at her from one corner, and she knew it was on. “Can you please state your name and age?”

“Violet Uzumaki, age 52.” He raised his brows at that.

“52?”

“Yes, sir.” He didn’t appear to believe her, but he shrugged it off and moved on.

“Where are you from?”

“South City.” She stated flatly. “Earth.”

“Okay, and what is your motivation for joining the tournament?”

“To gain strength, power and victory.” She recited the tenants of the Sith code as Charles had instructed her. It was supposed to appeal to the elite, and she hoped she was convincing enough for them to believe it. First impressions are forever.

“Fantastic, Ms. Uzumaki. Is there any special skills you would like to add that would help us determine whether or not to consider you for a position?”

What would impress these guys? She thought for a moment, sorting through her myriad of talents that she could no longer perform, although there was still one that was second nature to her. She looked squarely into the camera and concentrated.

Her skin began to warm, little blips of reddish colored light sparkled from the tips of the tiny hairs running along her exposed skin. Her teeth clenched, and eyes faded into two round spheres of white rimed with a blood-red aura. The ground beneath her began to shake, with blades of grass and dirt rattling free and floating above the ground around her feet. With a banshee-like shriek, her body exploded into a play of red-rimmed light, then immediately faded away, leaving her back to as normal as she’d come. The debris at her feet plinked back to the ground. “Does that work?”

The man was clearly flushed, eyes just a little too wide. “Y-yes, that works.”

“Good.”

“The portal is over there,” he pointed. “Just step through and you will be in the pre-show area. Feel free to look around and socialize with other contestants. The game will be starting in the next few days, so there’s plenty of time to rest up before it begins.”

“Fantastic,” she grumbled, and made her way over to the strange looking portal. Gazing at it, she flashed by memories of tournaments passed, knowing she was at the point of no return. Fuck it, she thought, and stepped through.

Color version coming soon!

Personality – A bit of a jerk, logical, inquisitive. Not afraid of violence if a situation calls for it, and usually even more bitchier when she’s nervous or afraid. When she’s measuring someone, she’s typically on the quiet side, letting the other person take the lead and reveal themselves. Does not tolerate dishonesty from others and will typically shun anyone she suspects of playing her. Exceptions to this is when being tolerable to the other person would gain her an advantage.

Possible Reactions – How would your character respond to certain situations? How might they respond to other types of people?

Again, not afraid of using violence if a situation calls for it, but will not typically attack children unless they prove to be malicious, then she would seek to disable them, and if it is absolutely necessary, kill them if they present clear evidence they mean to kill her. For adults, she would be wary of anyone whom she crosses paths, even in alliances, especially in death tournaments like this. When someone earns her trust, she’ll give it in return and fight to the last to protect them. For injured allies, Violet will fight harder to protect them, even if it means injury to herself. During this particular tournament, she will play a little more coy with people, especially those who she suspects to be aligned with higher-ups in Coruscant and their affiliated factions. Her aim is to ally herself with those types of people for her own gains, and wants to make herself known in their circle (albeit in a positive way). Although reluctant for the tournament itself (seeing her past experiences have always not been positive), she is sucking it up and going to play her best game.

Relationships –
No current relationships at this time, although during preshow and during the show, that can change.

‘Combat’ Style – Has a martial arts background, although she is familiar with street fighting and all around opportunistic attacking. With weapons, she’ll go for the most vulnerable spots (i.e. inner thighs, where arteries are located, neck, chest/thorax areas). If she’s not aiming to kill, she’s aiming to maim and disable.

Eligible Powers – Burst Movement, Super Jumping (basic)

Moves – None right now (although Kamehameha is waiting for approval, which I will take if approved.)

Extra – none I can think of right now. If you need to know something specific just ask.

Quotes – She loves the word “fuck” and will punctuate sentences wherever she sees convenient. The frequency of her profanity usage increases when she is experiencing strong emotions.
