Queens Chase Kings II
#2
After Erika had successfully scoffed the saintly old man, so she stepped through scorched black ash on her way to search for that scaley lizard. It looked like someone had inverted the color scheme of snow. The charred crisps cover the grass like a thick black blanket. Sticks and twigs littered the remains of their fallen brothers and cousins that they laid in. It seems the King barred no sympathy for the tiniest living creature. How exciting! Erika’s whole body shuddered at the thought of an opponent who wouldn’t dare hold back because she was a tiny girl made of nothing but skin, bone and attitude. Exhilarating feelings raced through her blood making her heart pound heavily. If this is how she felt just by thinking about the fight, imagine what it will be like when she’s actually beating Ghidorah’s teeth into his skull, and/or skulls!

This ashen blanket was never ending. Ghidorah literally destroyed everything within his range as he passed through this forest. All the more reason to be excited about fighting him, though she could do without all the black char scuffing up her sneakers. When she’s done with Ghidorah, she’ll make him spit shit her shoes clean, or is dragon saliva just their breath attacks? Flammable saliva? Yeah maybe she’ll just kill him and clean the herself.

This walk was agonizingly eventless. Erika’s attention span was growing shorter and shorter by the step. Ghidorah’s feather trail of destruction was much longer than expected and it was drawing her patience. The angry vigilante smashed her fist through ruined tree bark, snapping the tree from it’s flimsy stump.

“Come out and fight me you slimy bastard!” She screamed out loud. That’s when another person’s voice echoed back at her. A man who seemed much more than startled was running away from the direction in which the ashes led her. As he approached, screaming nonsense of total annihilation and destruction, Erika grabbed him by his shirt and held him up off the ground.

“What are you going on about you lunatic?” She asked him as he swung around sporadically and helplessly in the tiny primes hands. His dark cloak covered his face suggesting he was a rogue of some sorts. The bow and quiver on his back only strengthened that argument, she also noticed the quiver was decently emptied. The dark cloak he wore over the grass-stained tunic was a sign that he could easily be a thief of sorts, or even a bandit. The un-adjoined sections of leather armor had been scuffed by some kind of hot, hazardous substance. Everything about this man pointed straight to Ghidorah. The paled expression on his hidden face was just barely visible behind the darkened shadow of the cowl he wore. True terror. He continued to scream about the electrical death-monster that had attacked his group of ‘hunters’. The annoyed assassin backhanded him across the face, nearly breaking his poor jaw with her steel knuckles.

“Tell me you fucking psycho! What is your deal?!” She screamed in his face, bringing him closer to hers for emphasis. The man shrunk further into his shirt as the pink-eyed prime spit in his face.

“It- It- It just absorbed him! He disintegrated and- I don’t know- ATE Coxley like he was a fresh loaf of bread!” The man continued to squirm, trying to scratch his way free of the tiny adolescent’s firm grasp. It seems that threats work just as well as being nice to people. Point noted for her future endeavors.

“Do you know where it went? I need to find it.” She asked putting him down on his feet so he could breathe for a moment, but not releasing her death-like grip from his tunics torso. He of course still attempted to struggle free, looking behind him constantly to check if the demonic lizard-human was following. Every time he looked, there was no Ghidorah though, unfortunately. It would make things much easier for her if golden-hide dragon just found her instead. Erika shook the man like a ragdoll. “Answer me dammit!”

“No! I ran as soon as it killed Coxley! I swear, just let me go!” With that, he made himself useless. The assassin threw the poor beggar to the ground and continued to walk towards the source of the ash. The archer scrambled to his feet, now covered in the soot and took off not carrying so much about his newly stained clothing. Not that there was much difference before he was thrown in the black powder anyway.

Here it was, the massacre of the band of bandits. A few bodies lied on the ground, blood splattered on the tree bark where it wasn’t covered by burn marks. The ground was littered with used arrows, tons of arrows. She had to be close to Ghidorah by now, the walk between that archer and this bloody scene wasn’t so far that he could have gotten away.Question was: Where did he go now? Given his destructive nature and blatant disregard for the care of other people, he’s probably looking for a settlement to level into rubble. While that’s a good hunch, it would be best to search the area for any other clues in case she was wrong. It would suck to lose him when he is so close already.

The assassin pulled her phone from her pocket and looked up a general map of Camelot. The nearest settlement was a maybe a mile or two northeast from here. Looking through the rubble of cindered timber, she was able to find some promising footsteps covered in the midnight-colored ash. Their direction (at least from what few steps there were until it faded from his feet): Northeast. Investigating scenes of crime was hardly Erika’s strong suit, but this was enough for her to go off of.

Didn’t take long to find the carnage of his triumph. More sections of greenery burned to dust and rubble came into view over the hills. Shouldn’t all this lightning/fire he’s puking burn his freaking tongue? Mess with his voice what-so-ever? Wait, what happens if a dragon drank oil, or snorted gun powder? Or both? Mentally noted for their upcoming fight.

The heavy hills bounded over Camelot’s countryside. It would actually look pretty serene if fucking Ghidorah would stop ruining everything he came within a mile radius of. Smoke floated away in the distance. Whether it was the remnants of Ghidorah’s actions or the settlement Erika had found on her phone, she wouldn’t know until she got over this hill. Two golden lights stood in the distance. The first light being the horribly radiant sun. Fuck that shit is bright. The second was a man donned in golden armor that was even more a nuisance to look at than the sun itself. Pride oozed from that armor with radiant bravado and brilliance. Let’s go dent some pride.
