As Claire padded her way along the white floor in front of her, she couldn't help but experiment with this new world she had found herself in. The first thing she noticed was that she had no shadow - so there was no light source here. It was a bright white, clearly visible space but there was no light or sun around her. She glanced behind her to see if she could still the tree that served as a fountain, but she couldn't. She had been walking for a while now, in the same direction, and had succeeded in finding nothing.

The person - if she could call it that - had said that using this Omnilium substance she could make anything she wanted. As she walked along the emptiness, her emerald eyes found their way down to the ground, trotting along. After spending a few minutes thinking about it, she watched as a small green path of grass began to sprout up from the white nothingness, as if guiding her forward in a straight line. "Hrm," she clicked her tongue along the back of her teeth.

The next step was movement. She came to a stop, which also stopped the grass path from growing in front of her. She could walk everywhere if she wanted to - but that just wasn't something that she - a teleporter, even by name - was used to. But could she still use her powers here, in this place? Once upon a time, she could teleport all the way to the moon. Now, she wasn't sure that could do anything. Well, that was true. She was able to produce her energy daggers earlier, so that was something.

Blink looked up from her solitary spot. She squinted her eyes. In the distance, she could see something. She couldn't tell what, but given that everything else was bright white and this had actual color to it, it meant she had found something in this desert of nothing.

She looked down at her hands and conjured up two orbs of pink energy, just to see that she could. The light flickered around her fingers like a flame. She wondered briefly if she could teleport all the way there. "Well," she said aloud, to nobody in particular. "I guess there's only one way to find out."

With one quick motion, Claire leaped forward as if she was competing in a long jump competition. In mid-air, she brought her hands up and displaced the energy in her hands forward, causing a rip in the space in front of her to form. The space turned into a portal, which wrapped around Claire as she jumped through it, 'blinking' forward a good fifty feet. While she didn't move nearly as far forward as she wanted, there was no question the teleportation worked. She rolled onto the ground upon landing, and upon getting back to her feet opted to keep moving. She put another portal in front of her and ran through it, getting closer to the figures in front of her. She was running full speed now - a grin forming on her face as she started to feel normal again. She felt alive again. In front of her was a large tent with some humanoid figures all around it, still a good distance away. This time, she didn't put a portal in front of her, but rather just blinked away from her current position all together.

Blink appeared in the back of a small line, panting with a silly smile on her face. That was fun. Right in front of her was a woman in tribal clothing, like an Indian in the midst of a ritual. She turned her head and squinted at Blink, as if surprised to see her. Despite her foreign appearance, she spoke perfect English, which led Clare to think she was dressing up in a costume as opposed to actually being tribal. "Where did you come from?" she asked. "I didn't hear you come up here."

"I'm really quiet," Claire lied.

"I guess so," the woman responded. She had a little more of a bitchy attitude then Claire would have liked to have heard.

Claire's green eyes looking at the tent in front of her. There was only about five people in the line she was standing in. The sign to the tent said 'Dante's Abyss Sign-Ups.' "What's Dante's Abyss?" she asked aloud, not really speaking to the woman in front of her directly - more to herself. But the woman was the only one whose attention she had, so she looked down at the shorter girl anyway to hear her answer.

"It's a tournament," the woman said, being surprisingly kind of with her information. "More like a big battle royale. Last man standing kind of thing."

Tournament. That sounded pretty nifty. Given that she had no real clue what was going on this place and she was nowhere closer to finding answers then she was an hour ago, it seemed like the best time-killer. "You gonna compete?" she asked the tribal woman.

"Me? No, I'm not a prime. They don't weaklings like us, sister," she laughed, not noticing that Blink's face contorted into a look of offense. "This is the line for employee interviews. The fighters queue is over there." She pointed her hand over to the booth right in front of the tent, underneath the sign that Blink had seen earlier. The first thing that the teleporter noticed, was that there was no line. "Man, I wish I could compete. Don't you?" She turned to look at the bubble gum colored woman, but was again surprised to find nothing in front of her. "What the--?" She turned to look for her, and bulged her eyes as she saw the strange woman standing right in front of the booth she directed her to.

Blink wasn't paying attention to the surprised screams of the woman she had left. She was already putting her signature on the appointment log in front of her. "Thank you, Miss..." he looked down at the ledger to see what she had written down. "Blink. Please follow me." She smiled at his confusion of her name. She didn't hate the name Claire Ferguson, but she was fairly sure that nobody was going to be intimidated by that name going into a competition. Not to mention, she was sure that 'Omni' didn't find her interesting because she was a Ferguson.

Blink was guided inside the tent, which was really just one big open room. At the back of the open space was a rift in space - similar to what gets left behind when she was 'blinks.' She knew immediately it was a portal. She was kind of an expert on that sort of thing. The man that had taken her information down led her to one of the interviewing spaces off to the side, where she was directed to sit down.

"I'm going to turn this camera on, so we can record some questions. Is that okay?" He was very polite when he asked. Very rehearsed.

"Sure."

The man nodded and sat down behind the camera. She folded her hands on her lap, wrists on her thighs. She hadn't really taken to think about what clothes she was wearing - mainly because of the whole 'showing up in a great white void' thing she was dealing with. She took a look to find that her green robes were laying across her shoulders and down to cover her to the ankles. It was the uniform of choice she wore when leading the Exiles.

She looked up to see the man clicking the camera on. A red light appeared on the front of it. "Interview Subject N-101. Blink. Okay, Miss Blink, why do you want to compete in Dante's Abyss?"

"I don't know," she said. That was all she said.

The man behind the camera pushed up on his glasses, contorting his nerdy looking face. For the first time since she started interacting with him, she realized that he strongly resembled an animal from Earth. A weasel. An annoyed weasel. "Are you familiar with Dante's Abyss? You do know that this is a survival tournament, right? It's a violent program."

"That's fine." Again, she didn't say anything else. What else was there to say?

He did not seem to appreciate her short answers. "What makes you qualified to compete in this tournament? What are your talents?"

"I'm really, really fast."

"Show me."

Blink squinted her eyes. She looked to the side. There was only one other person interviewing across from the tent. Everyone else was an employee shuffling around doing busy work. Nobody was paying much attention to her little corner of the tent with this rodent-looking recorder. She nodded her head and put her hands on the chair underneath her. She looked up at the camera and showed a little teeth, grinning as she displaced some of her magenta energy into the metal folding seat. Both her and the chair disappeared in front of the camera.

Mr. Weasel Guy suddenly looked up immediately to see over the camera and verify that what he saw through it was true. Sure enough, she was gone. A moment later, she appeared again, sitting on the same chair, but now leaning back comfortably, as if she had never moved. "Wow," he said, genuinely impressed.

"Told you," she said, not-so-humbly. "Fast."

"I think you qualify for the tournament," he said, not needing to see anything else. He wasn't going to tell her, but they were hurting for qualified candidates in the Nexus anyway, since most everyone there was new. She was probably going to get a spot regardless. "You can go ahead and go through the portal there, Miss Blink." He nodded his head to the rift at the back of the tent. "I'll finish your paperwork."

"Where does it lead?" she asked, standing up. Mr. Weasel stood up, too, clicking the camera off. "The portal."

"The Danteverse." He said. "You'll show up in the pre-show lobby. The event is starting in about a week or so. You'll get a chance to relax and meet the other competitors before it starts. You can read up on the rules and engage with some fans, too. The whole Omniverse is going to be watching. It's a huge event."

Blink nodded her head as a silent thanks. She walked away from the interviewer, glancing at the side entrance to the tent as she walked towards the back. She could see the woman wearing tribal clothes walking in, locking eyes with her. The woman looked surprised again, but didn't say anything this time. Blink just smiled at her - more like a smirk, as if to send her a message with just her facial expression.

Then she turned to look at the rift in reality in front of her. Again, it looked overly familiar. She stopped in front of her. It was exactly how her own portals acted after she went through them - leaving behind that little 'blink' in time and space. Like a jagged split in the world. To her, it felt natural, but to everyone else it was like a scar running right through the world. To Claire Ferguson, it was the closest thing to familiar that she got here.

Blink looked around the tent. Nobody was watching her. Nobody cared.

She walked through the portal.

Personality – Claire Ferguson has been fighting since she was a child, so she has a good 'Fight IQ' when it comes to confrontations. She has a tendency to get too lost in strategy and takes things too seriously, which makes her a great leader. She has a bit of an emotional wall to keep strangers away, but once it gets chipped away she can actually be very sociable and after awhile, very loyal. She is very opinionated and when she loses her temper, can lose her 'strategic mind' and become brash.

Possible Reactions – Blink is entering the competition as if it's just a regular fighting tournament. She's brand new to the Omniverse and hasn't yet found her 'purpose' here. So she's approaching the show as her introduction to the Omniverse - it'll allow her to make friends and allies and figure out where she wants to go from here. She tries to act tough but she works much better in groups, especially as the leader, so her first instinct is going to be to establish relationships.

Relationships – None

‘Combat’ Style – Blink's first instinct in a violent confrontation is going to be use her portals to gain an advantage. She could use them to hide somewhere or just to get behind someone. She's a very 'think first, act second' kind of person so she'll want to strategically gain an advantage before she initiated the conflict. She's decent in hand to hand combat but her forte is ranged, utilizing the shadow energy that causes her portals. Since that'll be several hampered, her best bet is to use portals.

Eligible Powers – Master Teleportation (utilizing portals)

Moves – Teleportation Energy

Extra – N/A

Quotes – N/A.
