Parabol
#1
Quote:So familiar and overwhelmingly warm
This one, this form I hold now.
Embracing you, this reality here,
This one, this form I hold now, so
Wide eyed and hopeful.
Wide eyed and hopefully wild.

We barely remember what came before this precious moment,
Choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside...
This body holding me, reminding me that I am not alone in
This body makes me feel eternal. All this pain is an illusion.

Parabol -Tool

The darkness enveloped her like a warm, comforting blanket. She didn’t want to move, and dreaded the alarm that was surely inevitable to come. Consciousness barely concerned her, and an overwhelming sense of calmness came over her being. What was this state that she was tiptoeing around, where she was aware, but not?

A voice in the darkness lit through the dense fogginess of her dream.
Quote:“My name is Omni,”
it said. The voice was rich and deep, drinkable like cocoa sliding across the palette of her mind.
Quote: “This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse.”

Consciousness flooded her body, and she became aware of herself and the hard ground beneath her. It was strangely warm, and not as uncomfortable as it should have been. Her eyes blinked, heavy with sleep, seeing only the dark surrounding her.
Quote:“You…interest me, so I have made you part of it.”
A faint silhouette coalesced from the darkness, illuminated only by its own power. It was just enough for her eyes to fixate, but not enough to garner detail. She should have been afraid. Should have screamed, or said something brash; the latter was her usual way of dealing with her fear, but alas, she found that when she opened her mouth to respond, she could not form words.

The being seemed to take notice and gave a knowing chuckle.
Quote:“The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it, but, there are rules. I will only explain them once, so pay attention.”

Her gaze followed the silhouette as it traversed the darkness around her, floating on his own power. If there was ground beneath him, it didn’t seem to make any difference in his movement. A hand outstretched, and within the palm, an orb began to form. From its center, colors of every kind swirled within its spherical confines. As if he knew what she was going to ask, he continued,
Quote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours.”

She reached her fingertips out, her body rising from the ground in a silken glide, magnetized to this new thing in front of her.
Quote:“You will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You fill find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.”

In that moment, she thought. What did she really desire the most? What…she couldn’t remember. Everything before this moment seemed to be a distant memory, something that faded as time ticked on, becoming mere ghosts haunting the recesses of her mind. In that moment, it didn’t seem to matter. The only thing that did was right in front of her, guiding her with his gentle words and rich voice.

Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too, desire Omnilium.”
He seemed to imply something, and just as her mind made the connection, he said,
Quote:“Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.”

She looked intently at the orb in front of her, her fingers stretching ever towards it, but as she closed in, it disappeared, leaving only a faint mist in its wake.
Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough.”
As he floated away, the panic began to set in, but was quickly diffused by a stronger wave of calmness.
Quote:“I’ll be watching…and waiting, Violet Uzumaki.”
