Character history:
Ryo is from a much later time in the DragonBall series where all of the canon characters have passed away. He is a descendant of both Goku and Vegeta.

Not too far into his life, a great warrior reemerged from the cracks of time, threatening the very fabric of the universe. As Beerus had done before, he found a way to exile the warrior; however, this time he had to do so in a vessel.

Ryo was the only person in the universe capable of containing the power of the great warrior within his body. Not through choice, Beerus contained the warrior inside of Ryo, but for good measure also sent Ryo a dimension that had not yet been discovered . . .
