The two elder primes shared a look. Bradley turned away first, glowering. Thrall didn’t look happy either, but it was a different expression. His features were heavier, and he looked Magus straight in the eyes as he spoke.
“This person … if they’re not part of the Omniverse, you can bring them here, with omnilium.”
The mage’s eyes widened.
“But,” Thrall hastily continued, “You may not want to. This Omniverse … some consider it a prison. It’s not all bad, but … if this person is someone you care about, you should think carefully before you bring them into this world.” He shrugged. “There’s really no right or wrong answer.”
The wizard’s eyes dropped to the clinically clean floor of the Nexus. “So,” he said. He looked back up. “So, I’m stuck here, and my … this person, is stuck outside? Where I cannot reach them?” e%gg
Thrall opened his mouth to respond, but now it was Bradley’s turn to speak. There was a glimmer of something in his one good eye.
“If you want to go home, the only way is to speak to Omni.”
Thrall’s head whipped around. “That’s …!”
“No guarantee, of course.” continued Bradley, spreading his palms. “But if you wanted to escape … he’d be the only person capable of doing it.”
“And how do I get to Omni?” Magus asked eyes narrowed.
“There are ways. If you help us, we can help you get there. To the Oververse, where Omni lives.” Bradley’s smile was cold, calculating. He didn’t need to mince his words with this one.
“Don’t do it.” said Thrall. “You’re not ready for that.”
“I think he’s capable of deciding for himself, Thrall,” said Bradley, practically spitting the last word. He leaned forward in his chair, extended a hand to Magus. “What do you say …?”
