The Primordial Weapon

[Proto Man]

It took him all of eight seconds to process what the woman had said, line up his shot, and build the charge. As the barrel of the Proto Buster shook violently, the Prototype Robot Master watched silently as the Tarrasque tried to lift itself up from the ruined landscape. It made it up to just one leg before it faltered. The monster’s eyes remained focused on the collection of primes as it opened its mouth to release a final defiant scream at those who had brought it so low.

“Finish Buster!”

Proto Man’s knees gave out as the hyper-concentrated beam exploded outward—its size quadrupling just beats after the energy escaped the confines of his arm cannon. The massive beam blazed through the air for just a few fleeting seconds before finding its mark. Unlike the other times, the initial impact lack that satisfying effect as the beam vanished down into the Tarrasque’s gullet, but after just a moment, it triggered the explosives sliding down its esophagus.

The result was instant.

A mighty shockwave hurled the hapless collection of fighters from their feet as the string of explosives blew apart the inside of the monster’s massive, gaping maw. The blasts tore through its flesh—armored or otherwise, and for the first time in the entire battle, it genuinely sounded like they’d injured the giant force of nature.

Scrambling quickly to his feet, Proto Man watched as the mutilated monster lifted one of its legs and tried to take a step toward the group. Even through it all, the creature refused to go down for the count. With the blood pooling down from the string of wide-open wounds on its neck and chest, and with its jaw hanging limply by one side of its face, the Tarrasque wasn’t going to get anywhere. As the collection of warriors looked on, their opponent shuddered. The only leg still serving to hold it up buckled beneath its massive, bloody body, and like that, the once mighty monster tilted and crashed to the ground once more.

Only this time, the impact served to set off a chain reaction that caused the collection of tunnels that crisscrossed under the area to collapse. Rather than just settling into a pool of its own spreading blood, the ground beneath the Tarrasque fell away, and it seemed as if the Pale Moors itself was swallowing the colossal creature.

As the collection of primes looked on, the creature’s eyes found them once more as the ground continued to collapse. Was that sadness they saw in beady black orbs? Or were some of them feeling a degree of pity as the creature vanished into the abyss.

Whatever they may have felt, their thoughts were quickly redirected as the orb of swirling colors found its way up out of the Tarrasque’s ruined body and came rocketing toward them. None of the primes tried to flee, and even if they would have, there wouldn’t have been enough time before the sphere consumed all of them. As it approached, Proto Man simply held up a forearm in the event that it exploded in their faces.

When no such blasts were forthcoming, the Prototype Robot Master lowered his arm and glanced at their surroundings. From the look of things, they were somewhere that was almost the Pale Moors but not quite. The sky seemed a little dimmer, and the earth was a few shades too red, despite looking exactly the same otherwise. What had once been the village was gone, with nothing to serve as an indication that it had ever existed at all.

Proto Man glanced around and saw that some of the other fighters were there, but almost all of them were looking over at the only landmark in sight—a short stone pedestal that housed a swirling ball of omnilium.

As per Sarah Kerrigan's approval, the Tarrasque is defeated. It was her idea to have all the primes involved shifted to elsewhere to settle any difference about the artefact. I also believe that she'll probably give people damage points as well, from the monster fight.
