Lokarri was a smart one. Wise beyond his years, if his apparent age was accurate. Neal wanted to think on his words for a moment longer, but Lokarri's acute senses had alerted him and thus he alerted Neal to possible predators. He took another bite of his pizza before letting it drift into the open air, floating high with the rest so that wolves could not reach it.
Neal slowly rises to his feet, picking up his hat from his knee to place it upon his head. He takes a stance, feet apart, hands out to the sides, fingers splayed and relaxed. "We should fight back to back. I watched a documentary on Animal Planet about wolves... They like to flank their prey." Neal was already moving closer with light, near tiptoe steps to turn his back towards Lokarri. He'd rather the near stranger be where he couldn't see rather than a snarling wolf.
"Are they close? I can't see in the dark." Luckily they were in a clearing, so moonlight lit up some of the nearby area. Beyond their camp though, the canopy blanketed the forest floor in an impenetrable abyss. Having been staring into the fire during half their conversation, his night vision was even further reduced. Should have camped in a tree. Not that he'd be any safer.
