Camelot's Alchemist
#13
“That’s excellent to hear, Edward, she was an upstanding young woman.” Dumbledore smiled as he started to leaf through a drawer in his desk. “The Vasty Deep is not a pleasant place. There is a large Imperial presence there, and you will have to pass through Costa del Sol en route to the sea. Be wary not to attract too much attention. They are known to ask many questions to primes they know have been to Camelot.”

Edward nodded his head, although he was mostly following along with the wizard’s remarks. Truth be told, he knew little of the greater political forces at play between the various ‘verses.’ “Any leads on where this secret prison is?”

Dumbledore nodded and produced a little stack of documents that he slid across the desk to Edward. “All the clues I have accumulated over the years, young alchemist.”

The blonde picked the little stack, slid away the paperclip, and started to leaf through them. Aside from some photos of seemingly abandoned islands, the majority of the stuff was stolen entries from naval logbooks. A few scribbled notes about secret ‘cargo’ ships heading out from Costa del Sol’s docks were mentioned, but it was obvious that Edward would have to do a fair amount of searching to locate the hidden facility that housed the alchemist. “So this Costa del Sol is the best place to start searching?”

“Yes,” the wizard replied with a nod. “Those pictures are islands that used to house Imperial watchtowers… you may want to look there, as the Empire is fond of building underground.”

“Thank you,” Edward shot back as he re-clipped the documents and stuffed them into his coat.

“Good luck, Edward Elric,” Dumbledore replied. “I wish you the best of luck.”

Just like that, the head wizard was gone in a puff of smoke and Edward was standing outside his office door.
