Dumbledore spoke with a grace and wisdom that Edward hadn’t experienced before. He was calming yet fierce at the same time, which lead Ed to believe that he was powerful, given his status and influence within this place alone he had to have been here for a while. So when Dumbledore said that nothing would come for free, Edward accepted that fact without question, besides, equal exchange was something Edward lived by within his own world. Edward began considering his options as he stared at the piece of paper that was in front of him.
‘Do I want to rescue the damsel in distress, bring a criminal to justice… or work tirelessly to gain the trust and respect of an entire city?’ Edward asked himself as he thought each proposal over carefully, after all, he didn’t do anything without careful thought first… most of the time.
‘If I go to the prison break, I’ll get to see the so called ‘Paradise Islands’ that everyone in Minas had talked about. But at the same time would have to locate this secret prison.’ Edward mumbled to himself as his mind jumped to the next task.
‘I could find the trolls, actual trolls, and help them out I guess… but the Frozen Fields sounds too cold… and if it’s anything like Fort Briggs, then I’ll need to go back to Winry to get some of that cold resistant Automail…’ Edward sighed to himself as a look of defeat came over his face as he remembered how useless his Automail had been until Winry upgraded it.
‘The third task is a little more local, just do some favours for the city of Minas and I’ll be able to continue with my plans.’ Edward thought to himself as the glowing name caught his eye again.
‘Alexandra Louise…. I’ve heard of her. Yeah, she’s a pretty talented Alchemist.’ Edward said as he looked up at Dumbledore, noticing a smile and a nod before glancing back to the piece of paper.
‘I’ve never met her but I have definitely heard of her. She is a talented fighter and Alchemist.’ Edward said to himself as his voice trailed off as he stared at her picture. She seemed happy, the fact that she was an alchemist also made a connection with him. Edward knew what he was going to do. Ed was going to rescue the prisoner.
‘I’ve made my choice, Dumbledore… uh Mr. Dumbledore… Sir.’ Edward said cautiously as he looked up from the paper and into Dumbledore’s eyes.
‘I’ll rescue your Alchemist and get her home safely!’ Edward exclaimed with a large grin on his face as he extended his metal arm and gave a ‘thumbs up’ symbol to show his trust and in an attempt to gain the trust of the wizard.
