All Too Familiar
#9
Lubbock swished his vision around to face Akame, who was yelling a warning at him from across the battlefield and soon to be mass graveyard. "I know! I'm gonna see what I can do with the giant! I'll see how long I can shield him, try and take out as many as possible!" He shouted back, shooting deadly glares at each of the approaching soldiers. "Sorry guys, this talk's private." He sighed and whipped his his hands around his body, the wires unraveling from his crimson gloves and weaving into a cocoon around his body, three feet in diameter, just as the soldiers managed to cross the gap. The sounds of steel weapons crashing against the firm, taut wires echoed throughout the egg-shaped space and Lubbock winced, threading his fingers through the wires in front of him to peel open a hole barely large enough for him to talk to the giant.

"I need you to get out of here, buddy. Think you can do that?" A low growl was the simple response the creature gave. "He says he doesn't want to hurt anyone." Syura echoed in the assassin's mind, and Lubbock sighed. "Thank you, mister interpreter." He muttered with a groan. "You don't have to hurt anyone, I can protect you." He called to the creature, and it nodded promptly, standing up to its full, intimidating size. With a brisk flick of both wrists, he reeled the wires in from around him and swung one arm in a wide arc, catching the rest of the wire on the armour of the soldiers that had been causing a ruckus. The wires cleaved through the soft joints of the soldiers, leaving them in mutilated messes. "Ugh... didn't wanna do that." He growled, before sighing. "Can't be helped I guess."

The assassin touched a pair of fingers to the wires on the back of his hand, and a rainbow sheen shimmered across the glassy surface, turning what was once a bright grey steel into a sapphire blue fiber coiled around the wheels atop his hands. "Realm-Cutting Thread... been a while." He muttered to himself and flicked his wrists, letting five lengths of azure wire sweep across the earth as he led the giant across the warzone. The wires were whipped at the soldiers with the ferocity of venomous snakes, now cutting clean through their armor like thin buzzsaws. Even the wounds where the mens' torsos parted ways from their legs were to fine that they bled belatedly.

Lubbock waltzed on, his dance of blood continuing as the giant lumbered along behind him, its enormous feet shaking the earth with each stumbling step, Akame's face a mask of awe, surprised by the grace Lubbock possessed in the presence of the polar opposite bumbling giant. "Quite spectacular." She commended him with a more composed smirk after Lubbock had sent most of the soldiers to hell... or whatever the Omniverse had. She peered up at the towering giant and swallowed hard; she'd seen worse of course, but being so close to a creature such as this and not having to fight it for once was a whole new experience.

"Let's get out of here. Now to figure out where one can hide a freaking giant..." Lubbock grumbled, rubbing his head as he followed Akame's gaze towards the monster's head.
