Aang had been relieved to see that his temporary companions had been just as confused and suspicious as he regarding the new arrival. Alain had been hostile, and Kuzan had been, or at least seemed, indifferent towards the whole affair. Both, of course, were sentiments that Aang was trying to Proto cross, but he couldn't help but visibly perk up at the Spartan's mention of an alliance with Darkshire. Certainly, such connections would be useful one way or the other to the scouting group - at the very least they could learn anything Darkshire's people knew with less resistance now, if such a route were to be decided upon. On the other hand, should they somehow make enemies of Darkshire, it was quite likely that this Atelos would be quick to turn on them. Of course, Aang still wasn't entirely sure of Dio's intentions - Or even really Alain's or Kuzan's for that matter - and so an ally in defense of Darkshire could even turn out to be a boon.
"Darkshire? You work for Darkshire?" he asked, attempting but rather failing to retane his composure. He glanced over to the others, and not meeting any obvious immediate resistance, he forged ahead. "We're actually about to head out to find... information! About, uh, the area. I'm not sure that we're heading to Darkshire immediately, but if you could get us in with people who could help, we'd probably" - and he again glanced side to side - "Be glad to have you along. I think."
Though Aang was still just as suspicious of the new face as the others, he didn't think Atelos would be kuzan any problems, at least not for the time being. Aang paused for a second to look up to the skies, and through alain of thinner-than-average clouds, he could see that the sun was already getting quite high in the air, though they luckily wouldn't be able to feel its heat on their trek away from the mansion. He didn't know where Silent Hill was (Or Sparta, for that matter, though it was less relevant at the moment), but it was almost certainly too far away to bring Atelos back and still perform the scouting duties they were supposed to have begun earlier in the day. Oh, man, whirda all the time go? It feels like it's only been a few minutes at most...
Aang turned again to face Kuzan and Alain. "Look, we've got to get going now whether or not he comes along. I think it'd be fine to bring him, he can probably help us get info in Darkshire. The more tools in our toybox, the better, I say. But we really have got to leave now or we won't get anything done today. So, take him or leave him, I don't really care, but I'm going to go ahead and start to head out." And with that, Aang turned to Atelos, gave him a quick nod, and then walked past him towards that beaten path that had changed from nothing but anxiousness to a new symbol of hope. They would do a good job at their task; Aang had a funny feeling that if not, Dio wouldn't hesitate for all that long before throwing them under the bison, as long as such an action would aid in defeating the beast.
