Tarrasqing a Question
#2
Aang awoke with a start to a very quiet knock on the door and an accompanying sneeze from the other side. He had slept surprisingly well, considering his relatively short period of actual sleep. Must be one of the servants. Also must not be used to flying bison hair... With that, he rolled up onto his back, then popped off the bed feet-first, scooping up his glider and grabbing the door handle before stopping momentarily to realize the potential uproar that could occur upon finding fur all over the room. With his hands, he swept enough into the corner that he thought the rest of the room looked somewhat passable, managing to mix some up in his hair and clothing in the process, and then transmuted the pile in the corner into the smallest imaginable dribble of Omnillium. Of course, it wasn't the amount that mattered, but rather that the fur was gone in the first place.

Once he opened the door, he had the sudden realization that no matter how much he'd tried to do for the room, it still smelled lightly of Appa and certainly wasn't completely clean. There maaay just be hell to pay for this later...

No matter. There was a quaint breakfast waiting for him at the foot of the doorway - Somehow Dio had known not to include any meats - and Aang picked ravenously at his plate as he carried it down the stairs to arrive finally at Dio's strategy meeting just as he finished. He listened to the short speech and job assignments. Perfect, he thought. I can do scouting. And Alain will be there too - Maybe he can teach me firebending while we're on the road? I'll have to ask about it later.

As soon as they were dismissed, Aang cheerfully tumbled back to the entranceway and into the courtyard. This monkeyish martial arts master of a boy was ready to get started, but sat down in the field by the stables to wait for his partners regardless. The weather felt unusually good, at least for this dreary verse, and the day was beginning to look like a good one.
