A toothy grin emerged from the turtle’s face. “If you were going to shoot me, I still wouldn’t be standing here, soaking wet! So, put the guns down already!”
The first piece of intel that Kirano Jr had gathered was that the turtle had common sense.
“The Nexus Fountain is out-of-bounds for swimming!” uttered the captain, before giving a hand gesture to his subordinates; causing them to lower their guns.
The creature’s snout turned red; embarrassed by the thought of having lost his balance and tipping into the fountain. Even worse, it believed – telling the troopers the truth would make him feel even more like a buffoon; therefore, the fiery haired biped summoned the most reasonable retort it could think of, “fine, whatever; next time put a sign up to save you the trouble of whining.” The turtle felt it was a reasonable reply because it did not lie, simultaneously, came across critical towards the militants.
The turtle’s response caused Kirano Jr to chuckle. The human-hybrid then diverted his attention to the alleged Storm Trooper captain. “The overgrown turtle has a point.”
“What?!” The jade skinned creature screwed up his face. A few veins even emerged. “Who are you calling overgrown?!”
Kirano Jr had a good sense of character and could tell the turtle (physically) was no pushover. The apparent omnipotent creature of the Omniverse, Omni, probably had a purpose for summoning the unidentified giant turtle to his verse – as well.
Furthermore, KJ did not want to get into an unnecessary skirmish, despite a small fraction of his being itching to test how tough the large turtle was; it was not the right setting – not with a dozen soldiers carrying plasma rifles, locked onto them.
As a reasonable individual with a knack for negotiating, KJ tried to ease the atmosphere as smooth as possible. “Easy, the young actor replied, raising his hands, and then letting them drop by his sides. “It’s just…where I come from, turtles are…a lot smaller…although I’ve heard of some that can talk…um…” He scraped his head. This is getting awkward…but I gotta finish smoothly, he thought, due to the quiet atmosphere (so quiet you could probably hear a pin drop). “Just pointing out that you’re an extraordinary turtle.”
Boom. Start with an insult, end with a compliment. That was an exemplification of Kirano Jr’s silver tongue – the formula behind his charisma; the main reason he was adored by millions of people across Planet Earth (arguably more popular than his dad Kirano). Kirano Jr’s attractive physical features were a bonus.
KJ gazed up at the white sky - ejecting a sigh, before retuning his direction to the unique looking turtle. “This whole place his strange.”
To KJ’s surprise, the turtle did not erupt with rage as it had dreaded, nor give a hostile response. Instead, it sighed too. “I know.”
Maybe the two visitors could actually get along.
