There's an issue when someone posts a large "word" in the chatbox, it stretches out the site rather than splitting the word. (So writing "REEEE..." with lots of characters can bork the chatbox and stretch it out, thus messing up the rest of the site formatting). There's not a lot members can do besides editing their own posts should they send a message like that (and avoid sending such messages), continuing to post until it disappears, or waiting for a mod to edit the offending message.
I'd guess it's on Trixie/Alex's plate as something to try to do, as a similar issue also occurs when posting a long "word" on normal posts (at least on most of the PC themes). It's basically always been a problem, IIRC.
