Dongja groaned as he came to consciousness. Two medics were massaging the boy's wounds, shaking their head.
"What was he thinking, wrecking this poor boy's body with that horrible infection?"
The sorcerer couldn't open his eyes. They were still glazed over with foul, rotting flesh. Dongja grimaced as he realized the grotesqueness of what was going on. But still, he could feel the foreign presence start recoiling from his skin.
"I think he's awake," the other medic said.
"Sir?" the first medic said, her voice clear and comforting, "It's going to be alright. We've neutralized the spreading of the infection, and we've almost finished clearing the... the tumors off your skin."
Dongja groaned again, pain wracking through his arms and face. The lower half of his face stung from the air touching it, and the upper half was sore and burning.
"Can you..." Dongja said, swallowing before continuing, "Can you do something about my eyes?"
The medics seemed to pause for a moment. Suddenly, a warmth Dongja didn't know was hugging his legs shifted towards his face. The rotting flesh started peeling back.
"And the ears," Dongja coughed, "It feels weird to hear things from the top of my head."
"That bit needs to be last, I'm afraid," the male medic replied, "We don’t want the infection to split open and reactivate somehow."
Dongja shrugged and leaned his head back. "So can I go home afterwards?"
The two medics looked at each other apologetically.
"Unfortunately, yes. You lost."
"Cool," Dongja said, "I'm... I'm gonna sleep now."
Dongja let his covered eyes shut.
