Triumpht moved to the head of the crowd. His smaller siblings parted like the red sea, watching as their brother walked towards Retane; Jack and the ninjas stood at the back of the group, spectating with crossed arms.
The God of Death stared down at his young boy. “Triumpht? What is it, my son?”
“Father,” Triumpht said, “I wish to stay here, and support Mr. Wade. Just for this round.”
A moment passed; the wind whistled by; then Retane nodded. “If that is what you wish, so be it.”
Triumpht’s brow ridges raised. “Really?” He tried to contain his glee, but it seeped through into his tone.
“Much to my chagrin, Wade has been more of a father to you than myself,” Retane replied. “But, once he’s done this round, you must come home.” He rested his palm on his son’s head, and gazed deep into the boy’s eyes. “I have been absent long enough, and it’s time for you to learn how to be a Namekian--to learn the depths of your potential, and then exceed them.”
“I promise,” Triumpht affirmed.
