Dead Silence.
The ringing had long since faded from Clownpiece’s ears, leaving in its wake naught but a pristine peace. A hellish peace. Wrapped in an ephemeral tranquility under the crimson light of an infernal sky, the Lampad closed her eyes and took in a deep, burning breath through her nose. For just a moment, she was home, floating through the depths of Hades, aimlessly, not a care in the world. Stretched infinitely in front of her was the deepest pit of hell itself; a boundless, all-consuming black maw, endlessly dark, endlessly still. Tartarus.
For something so serene, the abyss gave off a dangerous aura, as though that stygian void could at any moment just... reach up and pull you down into its impermeable blackness, never to see or be seen again, never to hear or be heard again. Only suffer in unending agony amongst the titans imprisoned there.
But Tartarus this was not. Hades this was not. As the scorching air stirred to life, Clownpiece opened her eyes once again, her heartbeat slowed, her ire contained. While this might not have been hell, and while these pests before her hadn’t yet been consigned to an afterlife of untold torment, that didn’t mean they could escape it. If she needed to send them there herself, if she needed to enact their torture herself, then so be it.
Shantotto whipped herself up a pathetic cyclone, and even as Clownpiece let the winds take her, throwing her arms out and spinning not-so-gracefully into the sky, she couldn’t help but smirk. They were strong! But they still knew nothing of hell. Errant debris ripped up by the tempest tore at the fairy, and what remained of her tattered dress, but both held firm. And just like that, the tornado vanished, leaving her floating freely in the air, staring up at the sky of an already-victorious hell. The temperature plummeted, her breath fogged up before her eyes, and suddenly, Clownpiece dove.
A brilliant purple flame flashed, and madness descended. Two fairies, exhausted and half-dead, suddenly found new life. Light glinted in their eyes, and at the ends of their flowers, ragged and wilting, but still alive. The one or two remaining Hell Knights, dragging their weapons, suddenly opened up with raucous shouts, hefting their swords and rallying behind Butcher Jak.
Water erupted from the Tarutaru’s Stardust Rod, slamming into hell’s reluctant Hero. Next. Shantotto gestured quickly with her staff, light and pressure swiftly mounting around Link, and... Clownpiece slammed feet-first into the Doctor from above, a powerful shockwave rattling through her tiny body as she crushed the mage into the ground. All of her wounds throbbed and stung with the wave, but the fairy just kept on smiling, grinding her teeth.
The tiny terror hopped right back into the sky, fire and brimstone sparking to life between the curled fingers of her free hand. Shantotto’s face contorted from surprise, into a reckless rage as the light of madness took her. Her staff glimmered, magic swirling as she prepared to unleash another spell towards her floating foe. In an instant Clownpiece’s world was shattered, electrical agony surging through her body, radiant light searing her eyes. And just as quickly, it faded, leaving the little fairy crispier than before.
Unable to do anything to react, she plummeted gently to the wasteland, and towards an equally-charred Doctor below. She hit the Tarutaru lightly, bouncing off the squishy mage and to the side, where she landed amidst the gravel. No time to waste. The fanatical jester willed her twitching, lightning-scorched limbs to move, quickly but shakily rising to her feet.
Dazzling stars crashed into the ground all around Clownpiece, and she couldn’t help but jump, letting loose a silent yelp as she did. Her head whirled up towards the sky, her body tottering tiredly, threatening to tumble right over again. High above, the obstreperous fairies Mayflower and Antebellum fluttered about spastically, their mouths open in noiseless laughs. Red and purple petals sloughed off the sprites’ flowers as they swung them about in a manner unbefitting of nature spirits, using them to conjure up barrage after barrage of patriotic stars.
Such an erratic display.
And yet its mayhem was perfect. Under the thick haze of a reckless fervor, the dwindling survivors cared not to dodge, instead simply taking magical bullets right to the face. And allies as well, she supposed, but they could handle it! They were hell’s legion, after all! Leaving the dazed Shantotto where she lie, Clownpiece drifted forward, taking up position hiding behind The Butcher.
The towering wall of rags and meat lumbered forward ceaselessly, its flesh jiggling as bolts and bullets just... slammed into it. The fairy wasn’t even sure if it was feeling those attacks. How absolutely metal. A white-faced pierrot skittered hastily towards her unflinching ally. He lashed out with a bejeweled blade, dull edge tearing into It, sending It sprawling. Clownpiece grinned cruelly, a smirk that lasted just a moment before she realized the danmaku had ceased. For one eternal second after the pandemonic rain had vanished, the battlefield seemed almost... peaceful.
