[Round 2 - C] Pennywise & Shantotto vs Link & Clownpiece
#7
Pain roared through the Hylian’s body. His chest heaving with every breath, fighting against the ash and debris that littered the putrid air. A steady stream of claret soaked the boy’s tunic, every twinge, every movement eliciting a grimace from him. He wrinkled his nose, groaning as he assessed his current situation. Link raised his shield above him, despite the searing pain. A trio of Doomguard caught sight of the boy’s action and stomped toward him, eager for more blood as he directed them towards the Stormtroopers lingering just beyond the Judge, firing endlessly upon the forces of Diablo.

A crescendo of vicious battle cries erupted from the group of Demonic Knights as they charged, vicious weapons brought to bear upon the pristine white armor of the troopers, entire swathes of plastoid composite torn from their being. Though, they replied in kind, chunks of Doomguard blasted from their being, point blank blaster bolts cauterising wounds as they pounded demonic flesh and erupted out the other side.

Link sneered, his shield arm now hanging limp at his side. The boy shook his head, solemnly, and discarded the Hylian Shield — opting for a rather more brazen tactic. He bullrushed the Judge, sword arm trailing behind him as he ran. The boy drummed his fingers across the hilt of the Master Sword, grim determination painted across his countenance, and a fork of green lightning burst forth from the ring on his finger. The lightning danced around his being from tip to toe before ‘settling’ in the Master Sword, crackling along the length of the blade and emanating an ominous emerald glow. A vague wisp of smoke emanated from the palm of his shield arm, quickly coalescing into the form of his Clawshot. He raised the weapon, aiming vaguely for the Judge. A quick shot from the Clawshot saw the Judge duck to the side, the projectile whizzing past his ear and retracting as quickly as it came.

“Shit..” Judge Jak muttered as he regained his composure. A trio of thuds later and a loud “Hyat!” resounded around the man, his attention drawn to the Hylian lunging for him, Master Sword poised dangerously to sink into his chest. Jak dodged the intended strike only to have the sword plunge into his shoulder. The near destroyed motorcycle served as the boys footing and he spun, tearing a neat gash outwards from the blades resting point, an arc of blood and a pained yell from the judge were enough confirmation for the Hylian, he bounded away from the Judge and the skirmish that raged beside him.

Link sheathed the emerald soaked blade and skulked away, keeping his form low to the ground and behind any cover provided by the cityscape of Coruscant. The Hero ground to a halt in the shadow of what was once a skyscraper, torn asunder by his apparent allies in this fight, dust and sediment whipped up from the ground in a choking cloud. But the boy paid it no heed, his attention on the screaming wound on his shoulder. He tore a length of cloth from his beige undershirt, one end clamped between his teeth, the other wrapped around his shoulder as a makeshift bandage. He growled between gritted teeth as he pulled it tight against the wound and knotted it, instantly staining the cloth red as blood seeped from the wound.

The boy sighed quietly, opting to take a few moments to catch his breath and come to his senses. He dug his heels into the ground and pushed himself up against a gigantic boulder of concrete. Something, however, caught his eye. What he had assumed was a rock rolled over to the side, revealing a dusty red and white helmet, sundered in two and scored with scratches and seared. The boy’s eyes widened as realisation dawned on him. He recognised the helmet.. He’d fought alongside it’s wearer in a different competition of power, in the Graveyard. Blues; Proto Man. A wave of emotion wafted over the teen, regret mostly. He’d been pitted alongside the forces that had done this, taken a friend. Another sigh and the boy shook his head, cleared his thoughts.

He pushed himself to his feet with a groan and willed his Fairy Bow into existence, his quiver filling with a bundle of arrows. Link pulled one and notched it against the string of his bow as he stepped up onto the top of the concrete boulder. The teen mustered what little strength and tenacity remained within and yanked the bowstring back, to his shoulder and the arrowhead erupted into flame. A grunt of relief and the arrow flew, righteous fire leaving a streaking trail in the air as it sailed toward his intended target: Shantotto. Through no amount of luck or insight, the Mousey Mage managed to sidestep the arrow as it sunk into the ground, flame bathing the desecrated ground. However, the boy’s assault was far from over. He leapt into the air, willing his Megaton Hammer into existence, it’s head glinting in the scorching sun and brought to bear unto the mage.
