A new place to live meant relative safety right? The Omniverse never really seemed to protect Marcus from knowing peace, knowing that Skynet could be out there or in another body.
After the meeting and everybody broke up to wherever, Marcus found Blair leaning her hand on the table, smirking.
Marcus’s eyes moved back to Blair’s eyes “Were you listening in?”
Blair raised a eyebrow “Of course, I’m a Avenger too, why wouldn’t I?”
Marcus turned his eyes to the new mansion “It’s… nothing. “
Blair’s smirk turned to one of annoyance as she nodded the terminator on the shoulder “Bull, what’s eating at you. And don’t say “Skynet is.” because it doesn’t exist here.”
Marcus grunts as he summons his normal leather jacket and slips it on over his shirt.
“That’s a wrong assumption, Blair, because it never fully GOES AWAY just like that. What if it slipped into Vision, or anyone else for that matter? I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I hurt you or another Avenger like that.
Blair was quite “Alright, I get it Marcus. You are worried about whatever happens to anybody, stop placing all the weight on your shoulders.”
“I’m here too, you know.”
“I’m going to train, alone, Blair!” as the terminator refused to change his mind as he dragged himself toward the gym.
Blair muttered something about him being stubborn as fuck sometimes and why he was stomping off like that. Something must be on his mind.
The terminator found himself down in the gym for a while as his metal cyborg fist collided with a punching bag as it flew back in response.
The man followed up with several other blows, training to get himself back in peak form. Being not strong enough was not good for the team, and how was he able to defend anyone if he was rusty.
“I have to destroy Skynet myself, it’s the only way I’ll feel satisfied. It’s the only way I know things will calm down.”

He couldn’t do that. If Skynet died, so did his friends, everyone he knew.
He sat on the bench and closed his eyes, rather trying to search his mechanics for problems.
Searching for skynet.exe..
