[Round 2 - C] Pennywise & Shantotto vs Link & Clownpiece
#3
A hellish wind whipped around the Hylian, sulfur and brimstone flooding his nostrils. Ash and dust assaulted the boy’s eyes, he squinted through the smoke, locking eyes with the Dancing Clown before him.  He shook his head quickly, almost as if clearing whatever thoughts clouded his mind. The Hero glanced either side of him, a pair of Doom Guard lumbered beside him, demonic swords brandished. A slight dip of the boy’s chin and the Doom Guard leapt into action, charging a pair of encroaching Stormtroopers with diabolic fervor. Guttural growls escaped the creatures, devilish blades slashing and cutting at sullied white armor, stained by red dust and ash.

Bolter blasts flew past her ears, buzzing with vicious intent as they soared and slammed into derelict buildings, chunks of stone and debris flung into the air as the Hellfairy zipped around, launching bolts of Hellfire toward the Doctor, chortling all the while. Shantotto, however, moved to dodge; dipping away from the Hellspawn’s fire, only to be caught off guard by Clownpiece’s torch, swept out in front of her, casting a brilliant light into the abyss. The Hell Fairy’s laughter echoed, lingering on the putrid air as she all but disappeared, naught but a hallucination on the Doctor’s mind.

The Hylian groaned and rolled his wrist, spinning the Master Sword as he began to circle It. Pennywise responded in kind, like a shark circling its prey, before leaping into action. Claws outstretched threateningly, lunging for the Hylian as they darted about, in some twisted game of cat and mouse. Each thrust forward saw the Hylian backpedalling a few paces. The Clown cackled, warped jubilation present in every action.

Link’s breathed, rapidly, shallowly as he evaded capture and the beast’s maw. The boy drummed his fingers on the hilt of his blade, rhythmically, waiting for his moment to strike. Each of the Clown’s strikes deflected by the boy’s shield, It’s laughter grew louder and louder with each passing moment, elated in the depraved game of tag. Finally, however, the boy saw his moment. The Clown lunged forwards, clawing at the green fabric of his tunic only to be met with a shield to the head as the Hylian spun on heel.  It whimpered and clambered backward, clutching the side of It’s head, insides clanging about within it’s skull. The Hero followed up, bringing his sword down in a heavy diagonal sweep, yelling out with his exertion. It staggered, blood erupting from the wound and seeping down it’s tattered white costume.

Pennywise crumbled to the ground with a thunk, head held in It’s hands. The Hylian approached, sword poised to thrust and shut the Dancing Clown down. The Clown had others plans, however. It lunged forwards, screaming an almighty “BOO!” in the Hylian’s face and swatted the Master Sword from his grip. It brought Link to the ground, resuming it’s haunting cackle, one foot planted on the boy’s wrist, it’s other knee locking the shield to the ground. The Hylian struggled against it as the Clown’s maw closed in on his face, warping into a demented vortex of teeth, each thirsty for blood, eager to satisfy It’s unending hunger.

The boy dug his fingers into the desecrated ground, clutching at a handful of dust and rubble, features contorted with exertion, teeth gritted as he struggled against the Clown’s clutch. A deep inhale and the boy closed his eyes.

“Santa’s Little Helper is ready to die?” It taunted, eager teeth gnashing, itching to sink into the boy’s flesh as It craned it’s neck, inching ever closer toward the Hylian’s dust-ridden countenance.

Exhale

The Hero of Time wrenched his eyes open, the maw of the Clown mere millimeters from his face. He lunged forward, as best he could, his forehead connecting with the thousands of teeth and sending It backwards, off of the Hero. A multitude of teeth dislodged from it’s sickening gums, now rooted deep in the Hylian’s skin.

It roared in frustration, the boy’s blood trickled from It’s teeth, giving It a brief taste of what was to come. A taste was not enough, however, far from it. It’s Hunger must be abated. It loped forwards, It was so tantalisingly close. Link scrambled for his Sword, wrapping his fingers around the hilt gave him some sense of security, hope even. It eyed the blade, another wave of unease wafting over the beast. It’s silvery glow, however, slowly eclipsed by a dull blue that grew in intensity as the seconds passed until finally, a vibrant orange flared, casting it’s light around the battle ravaged war zone.

It tip toed onwards, each step more delicate than the last. It chortled coyly, “That little letter opener doesn’t scare me, Liiiink,” It glowered, before sniffing at the air, “Tasty, tasty fear!”  It launched itself for the boy, vicious laughter echoing around him.

The boy spun on heel, the vibrant orange light of his blade flickering before erupting into a wave of fiery energy, a whirlwind dust, debris and flame assaulting the demented Clown’s being as it was blown aside.
