[Round 1] Taloc & Makoto vs Kerrigan & Bandit
#7
A set of matching golden eyes greeted each other across the gore-soaked tiles of the tournament arena with opposing grins of pure malice. A sickly yellow glow echoed around the Queen of Blades as she dived back into the melee, rushing Makoto with vicious glee. Even with spurts of psychically enhanced movement, she could barely keep ahead of the vicious Shadow, and as she rolled out of the way of a barely dodged slash, she felt the air from the blow sing past her head. As the silver brand crashed against the stone where Kerrigan used to stand, sparks flared from the impact. The missed strike was more than enough to let Sarah know of how ineffective her carapace was against that much brute strength

Using her wings to catch herself, Kerrigan spun around with a grin. “You didn’t think it would be so easy to catch-” Sarah stopped mid-sentence, as black fluid trailed across her vision, and her cocky grin faded.

Superficial. Insignificant. But as her finger traced the scar from one end to another, the evidence was clear. A mark of her opponent’s swordsmanship was etched into her skin. She’d failed to completely dodge his attack, and if she’d been just a second slower...

Kerrigan’s grin faded from her face as she looked up to see the swordsman closing on her. She charged her opponent with fury on her face and a clawed hand cocked back. The shadow grinned, as he swung his claymore with reckless force. The strike was parried with a clash of steel on hardened bone, Kerrigan’s wing-blades creating a protective cocoon that protected her from Makoto’s frontal blow, stopping the claymore.

To her surprise, though, Makoto’s grin grew wider in response, and as the feeling of Steel digging into her back lanced through her, she realized she’d been had. Taloc! She’d thought the assassin dead on his feet! Instead, he’d been waiting for an opportunity to slip a knife through the back of her ribs.

Surprisingly, though, the knife stopped short. The sound of pulling fabric, and the quick bark of “Gimme that!” told the story for her.

Kerrigan owed the Ass-kicker her life this time, thanks to that interesting little ribbon of hers, but the idea she had to be saved from these idiots-

Well, at least she had some targets for this newfound source of rage.

Makoto, quick to recover from the failure of the gambit, attempted to knock kerrigan off her feet, but Kerrigan slipped under the blow, before snatching his shirt. Grabbing him in a telekinetic hold of golden energy, she lifted him off his feet with invisible bindings.
“I’ve enjoyed playing with you, but I think we’ve kept the crowd in enough suspense. I hope you enjoyed the little chance I gave you - even if you did waste it.” Kerrigan stated, smirk returning. “Thanks for staying on-script.”

To punctuate the taunt, Sarah slammed the School Boy into the ground behind her. As she did so, two pairs of gleaming crimson eyes appeared on either side of Makoto.

“Now, if you don’t mind” Kerrigan Strolled away, looking away from her opponent “Play with my pets while I’m gone.”

The infested terran didn’t bother turning around as she focused her attention on Taloc, but the sounds of chittering zerglings and primal screeches behind her was more than enough to let Kerrigan know she had nothing to worry about.

Taloc was using every parry and quick attack he had to bring down the muscled fighter, having regained his other dagger at some point, managing to keep moving despite the crunch and whine of his injured body Sarah could hear with every movement.
For some, this would be endurance worthy of praise; To Kerrigan, it was just annoying.

The Bandit tried a left-handed haymaker, but the ant was too quick, sliding under the powerful blow with practiced agility, before slashing for the Bandit’s hamstring, a move certain to bring his opponent to her knees.

If her knees had still been there, that is. Kerrigan quirked her eyebrow, and the Bandit was lifted a full foot away from the assassin, just outside of his reach. The Veteran thief flinched, but when she looked around in confusion and caught Kerrigan’s eye, She gave Sarah an appreciative smile.

“You know, you should feel lucky. Where I came from, this wouldn’t have been a fight at all. I’d have found that special part of your brain you use to move, applied a little telekinetic pressure, and ‘pop’.” Kerrigan spun a finger around her ear with a chuckle, before miming a gunshot to the head.

As Sarah taunted the assassin, a trio of Hydralisks appeared behind her. Spittle slipped down to the bloodied battlefield as they eyed their weakened prey eagerly. “Instead, we get to pick you apart, piece by piece, limb by limb. That’s what all this struggle has gotten you. Was it worth it?” Sarah asked with a casual shrug; it came with a hail of dozens of spines, a screen of missiles to put the expert assassin out of his misery.

Sarah Kerrigan has activated T1 super-assists: "Zerglings" for the rest of the round. (SP: 2/4)
Summary: Sarah gets cocky in melee combat with Makoto, gets shanked, then just barely saved by the Bandit. Puts her zerglings to work dealing with Makoto, before utilizing the burst of free time she gets to Corner and attempt to murder Taloc quickly.
