Meanwhile, On The Southside
#1
***

On the Southside of Tier-5 Coruscant, in the Maggot District, the Dead Bitch Gang thrives.

In the crowded back alley marketplaces, skeletons in leather jackets rub shoulders with ghouls checking their twitter accounts. Dwarfs sell rare blood wines to vampires with condominiums. A group of teenage Twi’lek girls take a selfie in front a brain merchant. Gentrification is alive and well in the Southside, but behind the thin veneer of a tourist trap lurks a sinister underbelly. The tourists don’t care, they just want to go see all the undead, but the massive graffiti murals featuring undead saints that the tourists love so much act as a warning sign to every shopkeeper in the Maggot District. That message is clear; Dead Bitch Gang owns this spot.

The Dead Bitch Gang are a trio of necromantic sisters who have used their power over the undead to carve out a place for themselves in the criminal underworld of Coruscant. Their skeleton thugs patrol the streets, extorting money from shopkeepers. When they don’t pay up, they send ghouls to eat one of their limbs. They use their power over ghosts and the spirit realm to steal secrets and spy on other gangs. Then they go rob those gangs with any number of exotic undead the sadistic sisters have managed to produce.

Their influence is both subtle to the tourists and overt to the residents. They use their undead proxies to keep an ever present eye on their territory, but usually prefer to hide from the public eye. The exception is Sofia.

Sofia Zamora, the youngest sister, is the Sergeant at Arms and the enforcer of the gang. Filled with raw necromantic power but little experience, Sofia has little control over undead creatures but is a master of manipulating necrotic energy. Sofia tends to walk the streets of the Maggot District with her gang, her face fully painted as a sugar skull. She has no permanent residence, but sleeps at various hotel rooms or in zombie crash pads.

In contrast the middle sister, Guadelupe Zamora, appears in public very rarely. She has been known to appear as a ghostly white transparent thing deep in people's nightmares, or sometimes her face manifesting as a grinning graffiti sugar skull. She is in charge of the ethereal network of ghosts and wights that spy for the gang. She lives, or rather haunts, an historic old house in the middle of Southside Park. Many urban legends surround the house; many and more are true.

The eldest sister, Isabel Zamora, is the leader of the gang. She commands the hoard of terrestrial undead that make up the backbone of the Dead Bitch Gang’s martial power. The undead she controls, all the skeletons and ghouls and vampire and zombies, are all fully sentient. They allow her to control them in exchange for the massive amounts of necrotic energy she pays them, and the power and defense they need to commit the heinous atrocities that come so naturally to their kind. They are fanatic in their worship of Isabel. Isabel lives in an abandoned apartment complex filled with her rotting gangsters. It’s known as something of a party house.

The Dead Bitch Gang has most recently caught the attention of the public after a gang of skeletons killed a dirty Stormtrooper using ice pics during a drug deal gone wrong. The Stormtrooper allegedly fired sixty two shots, nearly injuring a civilian. The gang has since been rather quiet, not showing their faces in public.

Except of course, for Sofia.

The youngest sister is unafraid, brash, and is prone to marching around Maggot Ally gang-banging and causing a ruckus on nights when she gets antsy.
