#11 Cell & #18 Ricter vs #6 Ash & #10 Jak Mar
Dark Jak tilted his head and grinned as the weasel flailed at him. “Embrace the dark,” the man rasped as he Ricter’s fingers dug into his forearms.
“I…”
“No more talking,” Jak growled as he lifted Ricter up off the floor before promptly slamming the weasel’s skull into the tiled surface. The stone splintered as the beaten fighter’s eyes rolled up in his head. Dark Jak sneered as he hurtled the still form of his victim to the grass outside the platform. “Out with the garbage.”
With Ricter eliminated, Jak turned and sneered as Ash moved in for the victory.
Cell scowled.
His partner was being strangled to death by the elf, and the ogre had a seemingly limitless pool of stamina. What would it take to see her undone?
The chainsword roared as its owner zeroed in on the bio-android. The flurry of serrated blades hissed through the air as Cell stepped forward. With zero thought, he punched forward and met the whirling collection of teeth.
Eyes wide with glee, Ash squeezed the weapon’s shaft and pushed forward as it tore chunks from Cell’s right arm.
Biding the seconds, Cell waited until the woman lifted one of her feet in an effort to advance. His other hand, bloodied and broken, slung out and released a burst of energy that clipped the Storm Demon in the side of the head. Her grip was broken on the weapon, which dropped the ground as Cell threw himself against the smaller fighter. He got his good hand in around her neck and got her feet into the air a beat later.
Stumbling more than stampeding, Cell moved toward the edge of the ring as an ever-aware Ash grabbed for her dagger. With a swift motion, she plunged her Quill into the side of Cell’s face. The bio-android teetered, but his tail swung forward, crashing against the woman’s chest as she fell away from her foe.
With a dull thud, Ash landed on her back on the grass.
Cell, his fingers grasping at the dagger in his cheek, turned and steeled himself against the fuming warrior. The bio-android had one chance. His fingers dropped from the blade as he took in a deep breath of air.
Then his left leg caved, and he had to catch his bloody bulk with his remaining hand. Cell tensed as he set his eyes on something to the right of the approaching warrior.
Dark Jak lunged.
Cell threw his body forward with one last burst of speed—just enough momentum to get him free of Jak’s path.
The bio-android hit the pavement and tore the loose dagger from his cheek.
Dark Jak turned and winced as the dagger sank into the side of his chest. His punctured lung gurgled bloody bubbles of air as a ki blast smacked his leg out from underneath him. Jak pitched forward and couldn’t catch himself as he crashed into the grass a few feet in front of a still incredulous Ash.
Struggling to breath, Cell welcome the warmth of the teleportation system as it wrapped around his shattered form.
