[Round 1] Taloc & Makoto vs Kerrigan & Bandit
#4
Makoto’s opponent was as revolting as she was bloodthirsty. His dress pants were stained from the grisly display earlier, and his arms were peppered with scorch marks and stinging cuts from the woman’s relentless attacks. Nothing compared to the feeling of the viscous liquid currently running over his scalp and clumping his hair together though; that was really the worst of it.

Being skewered on both sides by the snake-like woman and her pet was not on his to do list for the day. A spike of irrationally intense anger flared through his mind as power rose from the limitless well that was his soul and flooded his veins. His brow furrowed and his eyes turned a sickly green nearly matching his opponent’s own.

A flash of blue solidified into his sword as Makoto spun around on the soles of his shoes. The air sang as he brought down righteous judgment on the creature behind him, revelling in its death throes as its head rolled atop the carved stone of the arena. Never stopping for a second, the blue haired warrior slashed his blade, now glowing green, toward the hulking figure of his tormentor.

A solid wave of wind slammed into Kerrigan, heaving her of the solid ground she stood on and into the air. Her expression as she was thrown back told him all he needed to know about about how much she underestimated him. Her narrowed eyes a part of a second later told him she was not going to repeat that mistake.

Pressing his advantage, the sword wielding fighter immediately took after the airborne woman before she had even landed. He rocketed forward, borrowed power pushing his legs to their limits.

When Sarah dug her chitinous feet into stone just a few meters from where she was first pushed back she immediately lashed out with her claws to catch the downward swing of a claymore. The heavy blade forced the towering combatant to her knees as she strained with the effort needed to avoid being carved like a pumpkin.

Kerrigan’s arms did their best impression of a piece of swiss cheese for the second time that day and Yuki recoiled and poised to throw himself backwards. The woman’s clawed fingers however were wrapped too tightly around his sword, and as her multiple cuts appeared on the palms of her hands the boy’s face might as well have been a painted target for her exploding parasites.

His world exploded into pain as he stumbled backwards. Ever an opportunist, Kerrigan’s fists glowed a dull yellow as she brought her left down into a devastating haymaker. This wasn’t the last of the boy’s problems, as he involuntarily floated above the grey stone of the arena for a moment before his back was violently introduced to said stone.

The infested lady breathed quickly as her bone and chitin wings twitched behind her. Her prey was more durable than he looked. Already he was springing back into action, much too quickly for one who’d endured such a beating. Nonetheless, she relished the challenge, her self assured smirk still contorting her features into an ugly monument to cruelty.

With a focused mind and a theatrical rising of her hand, the queen commanded another of her subjects to reveal itself from the floor behind her and hurl its spines at the suit wearing fighter. Makoto rolled forward into the incoming wave, and got a fresh wound on his left arm to show for it. He rose into a vertical swing with his claymore as the rest of the projectiles embedded themselves in the ground around him.

Kerrigan side stepped to the right as she pushed the blade to the left with one arm and came at Makoto with the claws on the end of another, all in one fluid motion. What she didn’t expect was for the sword to fly in the air completely unsupported, as the boy with the suit released his grip on it and smacked her cheek with a quick jab of his now free hands.

This was going nowhere.
